Definitely doesn't have to be a sandbox. It only makes it worse to play.
There are some great games that only need a mod and no sandbox. It only makes this game annoying.

Probably a stupid question, but how do you actually upgrade a spell? Bought the upgrades from the wizard, but they don't seem to do anything, how are they supposed to be applied? Tried going to the "Upgrade spells" screen, I keep clicking around there, but nothing happens, nothing changes? The UI is very confusing to me.
So... massive failure to capitalize on the "two worlds" thing. Like, I thought it was going to be all "Oh, play VR meet cute girls in VR and get sexy times with them only to find out *SURPRISE* it's your sister / mother" or maybe "Oh, my sister/mother is playing this VR game, I bet I could find them in game and get sexy times there" or even "I could build up a relationship with them in VR and find out their secrets and preferences to seduce them in real world". There were so many ways you could make use of the game concept.
But, no. Basically you're doing stuff with them real world-side easier and faster than VR side and there's very little interplay between the two.
Maybe I missed stuff, but I think they really fluffed a big opportunity.

I am genuinely puzzled by how the dev originally intended the game to be played. Do you build their relationship up to a certain point and then were you supposed to hit some artificial wall and you had to progress through VR to raise their affection with you and that just never happened? Some events you can easily reach reference VR and I was puzzled the last time I played, because I hadn't even bought the headset yet.

this game become only a gallery unlocker....damn boring , with no story progression and nothing to do in the VR wolrd too after the initial quest...what a waste...was promising but sandbox and lack of story progression killed it...im done with this
