Yeah so I went back to try and correct for what I thought was my lightings fault... turns out Colony Hair is just Garbage. That's the way it "fits" to that model. Intreasted to see what settings RomanHume has in his tool box for Amanda. Oh well.

I promised you some DICK!

On a separate note, I'll pull up the colony hair on Amanda and see if Fecal added any adjustments. Hang tight and I'll get you that info.

Not that I am complaining, but it's Monday and I didn't see the two PDF's. :(
ACK! You're right. I got so caught up in my "Emily by the pool" voyeur series yesterday that I forgot. I'll do it first thing this morning.

You know, there really aren't that many renders where you couldn't abandon Breast Control completely and redo it completely with Breast Utilities. With some dial twisting maybe not even noticeable in characters like Emily since all of hers are in the dark. Could be that you don't even have to redo any renders (of course except for that stupid door in the bedroom). ;)

Holy shit, that's bigger than DMD! :ROFLMAO:

Reminds me of this:
At some point RomanHume may regret his cooperation in making this thread a reality.
If you think that, you haven't been reading his posts for the last year!

Alright, I only got the one right now. She took longer to put together than the others because when you dial up P3D May's Body and Face, it ups a bunch of other sliders. So I had to do some sorting to figure out which sliders had been manually adjusted and which ones were the result of the May Body/Face sliders.

Got it sorted and here it be.

There are no additional adjustments made to the Colony hair, and I have the same problem you did from that angle.

Honestly though, this is the type of crap that when it occurs, I don't waste a bunch of production time fixing it and re-rendering a dozen times in Daz. I just drop it into Photoshop, repair it, and move on.

It is funny though that neither Fecal or myself ever noticed it. But we've not had an opportunity to shoot the top of her head......yet. ;)

In theory yes, but everything has been saved as presets and I don't really fool with them. I finally reached a point where 90% of my time is spent on new content and I shudder at the thought of going in and doing a bunch of tweaking right now.

So Atherin please don't hate me for this, but I was working on Lillian's office last night and the chair she sits in is not the same chair that is empty in some of the renders.

Honestly, where the fuck did she go?
Also when did the floor pattern change?
So when we started adding the new features to the game, two things we wanted was a better character creation/ kink selection screen, and a tutorial. All this took place in her office which at the time was pretty bland. So Fecal stripped some walls out, added another room, furnished it with stuff, and pretty much remade the room. However, that intro picture of Roger on the couch, was from the original renders and never got updated.

Also, he enlightened me on the cross grained moulding. According to him (And I have not verified this), the baseboard and the door frame are part of the same UV. So when he went to upgrade the textures in the scene, he had to make a choice, it either goes the wrong way on the floor, or the wrong way on the door. When he tested it, he found the floor to be less distracting than it going horizontally on the door. That's the story anyway.

I guess when the time comes for me to play with her office, I'll dig in and see what can be done.

 I'm not sure how to interpret that.

Perhaps you're point is that I have a tremendous amount of gravitas and cannot be shaken.

Yes, that - you don't (seem to) give a shit if someone takes your characters and does some pervy shit with them! And you seem to love helping people get whatever they're trying to do right.

I'm a simple creature. I get excited when people get excited about the game and its characters. The girls in this game are a big part of my life now. I've spent countless hours thinking about their personalities, their stories, their lives. I'm thrilled other people are into them as much as I am. And until now, I've been the only one making art with them. Seeing other people do it, and seeing what they come up with gives me something to look forward to.

Seeing the work people have done so far is a very cool experience because it's so familiar yet so new at the same time.

For years I've seen other devs try to safe guard their shit like a trade secret. But let's be real. Renpy can be cracked. Our assets are all on the Daz store and Renderosity. It doesn't take much for an enterprising individual to figure it out. So I'm Ok just giving people access to all of it. Want to look at and modify my code, have at! Want to drop a large dick onto the belly of my most innocent character, bravo!

My "trade secret", or rather the thing I have that makes my game impossible to reproduce is my story and my style. The tale I tell and the style I bring to it visually are things that belong to me and no one can take it. That's the cornerstone of my business strategy. Not the Daz assets, not the code. It's the story and the style. Others can replicate that as best they can, but only one of them will ever be Roman Hume's.

I hope that doesn't sound too cocky. :p

Hmmm... So dropped the reconstructed Amanda back in my scene... she's screwball again. I'm thinking it was the Dicktator shell fix. Must do something to the entire scene. iono.... breaking down the set and starting over.

Spot render I decided let finish and keep...

And I do apologize... I ment to make this 3-4 quick shots that ended with the MC being emasculated... but it's taking so long... Big dick was supposed to be a joke. Obviously Amanda isn't gonna sit on that...
Ok the smeared makeup thing is awesome! How'd you pull that off?

RomanHume please this is not a diss on Fecal, but that explanation is just an excuse for lazy scene setup, he could have easily created a surface for either the door frame or the baseboard and then applied a different texture to it. It would have taken 5 minutes total.

In my remake of Lillian's office. I also had to remove a wall, i13 didn't do anyone any favors in the way it was set up and sold, there is so much wrong with the scene all by itself (where the fuck is the door). As soon as I find the desk and chair, I will upload it here with a list of required models. You should only see minor differences between mine and Fecal's, but only if you look for them.

Just to give you an idea of what it took to setup the room, here is a rough outline.
  1. Took the preload scene
  2. Removed the cups from the coffee table
  3. Moved the couch (the back was clipped on the wall) moved the end tables to match where the couch now sits
  4. Removed the wall where the door should be
  5. Placed the watercooler in its location
  6. Modified the moulding texture to look better
  7. Moved books, magazines, and a couple of other small items to match the original renders
  8. That took about 10 minutes total
  9. Spent the next two hours looking for the desk and computer
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the Daz site when it comes to searching for assets!

Also keep in mind where we were developmentally at the time. We were still very new and green and I'm not even sure we knew what UV's were at the time. He just had some Daz textures that he was applying to different surfaces because they looked better.

I don't think it was a matter of laziness so much as a lack of training.

In fact, I've learned so much more about Daz through my studies of Blender and top to bottom digital asset creation. Knowing the proper terms for things and how everything is put together has helped me find things in Daz that previously either didn't make sense or seemed very esoteric before.

Okay, maybe I sounded a bit judgemental there, but I am only in my third month of DAZ, and all my background is in mechanical CAD not this other world organic stuff. Maybe that is why I actually look at scenes and not just the main characters. It also doesn't help that almost all developers make every part of a room razor sharp, which 1. isn't how we (humans I mean) see the world and 2. not how a camera works.

I should mention that my renders from mechanical CAD is always razor sharp with zero depth of field adjustments. I want people to see the details on all sides of my models. But in photography / cinematography DOF is a major factor in telling a story.

Sorry... what I ment to say was:
Finding issue with something is one thing, but I think we can be alittle more positive with our feedback. RomanHume is going out of his way to hook us up. Helpful feedback is helpful.
Shit feedback goes in your coffee. :p
Feedback is feedback, it doesn't always have to provide a solution or alternative. Not all feedback need be positive or even include a positive aspect. And I think I have shown enough positivity with all the time spent helping make this thread a reality.

No worries at all. The more I learn about other 3D modelling and animating software, the more I hate Daz's limitations.

My background is actually in programming for statistics and data science and I've dabbled in photography all my life. Lighting, DoF, composition, those are all in my wheel house. But making this game has been a major learning experience. And in the beginning it requires learning a lot of stuff simultaneously. Prioritizing what "must be fixed" vs "what should be fixed" is a balancing act. And when you only do this part time you have to be very judicious about how you spend your time. I'm constantly making compromises with myself just so that I don't stall to fix something that less than 1% of us will notice.

But I enjoy a great deal of detail and hopefully that'll come through as I take over the project in it's entirety. In time I am going to go back and re do some of that beginning work, but at the moment it's not a priority. I have to push this story forward because it's plateaued for so long and I gotta get it out of my head. =D

Here and in life I don't require feedback to be positive. But if it's not constructive and actionable, then I categorize it as just bitching.

But I don't think anything you've said falls into the category of bitching. The stuff we're talking about are all things I agree with you on. So don't think there are any ruffled feathers or hard feelings. And one day, I'll fix that damned baseboard because yes, it does look funny as shit. =D

This thread is going off track, so I am just going to shut up and look for the assets I am missing. Let's get back to the fan art, if no one minds.
We're talking about how to make the scenes better and to fix visual errors. Hopefully that will improve the fan art.

Of course....I certainly wouldn't mind if people wanted to get back to posting up the naughty stuff. =P

I am not having success finding the computer and desk in Lillian's office so I am going a different route, rebuilding the whole room in CAD and exporting as an FBX.

Here was a test, completely rebuilt the Therapist office, now I still need to find the desk and monitor. I am pretty sure it is an old asset no longer available from Daz3D

test.png
Overexposed but didn't care just wanted it to render fast. Less shadows faster render.

A few other small changes, on the bookshelf the potted plant is different as well as the small surprise on the other side of the bookcase. Since the ceiling is lower the on picture has been moved to above the window, the blinds still work and the door on the unseen wall actually swings open.
