There is a lot to unpack/ respond to here so first - and most importantly - you are right and I humbly withdraw my comments in any way that they pertain to you or the discussion about the Dreamland plot. I was clearly missing context.
FWIW I had read several posts recently across a few different threads where slut talk was going on and was feeling a little triggered. Your comment (albeit misinterpreted) was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back in that regard.
I did attempt to direct the thrust of my message to the general readership and away from you specifically, so hopefully you noted that.
I am new to this thread and Dreamland in particular so I have simply not read all of the posts yet and was committing the cardinal sin of reading the most recent posts instead of starting from the beginning. Doing so on any thread over 100 pages like this one can be a little daunting at times.... But not lazy though, I will get there eventually.
I also cannot believe I thought that you thought that but well.... I read something crazy damn near every day that some stranger on the internet believes and talks about. Today it was that you aren't supposed to touch the receipts from the grocery store because the printer paper has chemicals that will give you cancer. Fucking lunatics /smdh
Anyway, I never said I was smart or directly implied it so it has something to do with the manner in which I write. Either I actually come across as smart or I simply come across as someone who just thinks they are smart. Probably the latter. I am at least smart enough to know that I really don't know all that much and that suits me just fine.
