Thats the confusing part, Mei and Alex behave like total psychos, why in the world would mc + summer stay with this pyscho ragtag group in the first place?

Since they arived at dreamland they should have just gotten away from them, at no point i got the impression that these guys are friends at all.

I have some friends irl who can be a bit of an asshole too but these guys at least have something which makes up for it like loyality or being funny, but alex, mei, lea and danielle have no redeeming traits AT ALL when we dont count the looks of the girls.
100%

Multiple times Mei and Alex either physically harm the MC or leave him in harms way. I know if someone kicked my GF in the face and she was thrown into a lake unconscious, even if someone else jumps in too, you're damn well sure I'm diving in after her. Her safety would be number one. Not me chasing after the guy.

Alex I think hits you in the back of the head and knocks you out? Maybe I'm mistaken on this... but that can kill someone. If you're on the Lea path.

Seriously what you said, they go from what sounds like best friends in the beginning, to displaying no friend qualities in a matter of days. If you started me during the trip, I'd have said they were enemies.

I won't even begin on Danielle and Lea. They're your typical slutty, party girls. They're mostly behaving exactly as I expected when I met them. Danielle seems more unhinged than Lea. Doesn't Danielle say something about cutting your dick or balls off if she catches you with someone else? Or does the MC just get that vibe from her? Either way. No one has any redeeming qualities as you said, aside I think from Summer.

Summer is also likable but I am starting to get turned off by all the "twists/turns" its becoming a bad horror movie of the direct to DVD style
Well but that's exactly what this AVN wants to be, it has never tried to hide its influences.

It's like watching a Tarantino movie and complaining about what folks started calling "pulp", then one checks the kind of movies he references and watched and you get it.
(Btw I'm not saying this is a Tarantino level kind of AVN, although I'm not a super fan of his work, but eh... now I'm rambling)

That is why I expect out of Alice's family some chainsaw massacre kind of shit. :KEK:

Honestly with how dramatic and "B-movie" the story is, I genuinely don't think we can really trust Alice yet. Her "aw shucks I'm just an innocent country girl" demeanor could either be an act or be genuine but still hide some dark side. That entire family is super weird.

One thing that reinforces that feeling for me is the whole situation with Mei. She and Alice contradict each other about what happened at the pier, and while it obviously much more likely that Mei is a liar, there's still something weird about Alice's version. I don't know what Mei's deal is so it's hard to judge for sure, but there are not many scenarios where I think she's genuinely ok with directly letting the MC drown, in which case the idea that she was going to let it happen is hard to believe. Her seeing that Alice was going to intervene makes sense. Alice also has a very easy-to-understand motivation for lying, which would be to undermine a rival for the MC's affections.

Summer is the only character I feel genuinely confident isn't hiding something.

TL;DR: Mei is 99.99% lying about the pier, but I would not be surprised if Alice was also lying. Alice may also have a darker side that she is hiding behind her innocent attitude.
I don't think Alice even knows that Mei is or was a rival for the MC's affections. They haven't had much interaction before (if any). She could be hiding something (as every other Li seems to be hiding something or be disturbed in some way) but I don't see a reason for her to lie about that, especially when he could just ask Mei what happened.

Hopefully Alice's dark side is that she's secretly a succubus and needs to drain the MC's nut every night to survive.

We're on the same wavelength here, I find that shes only so sheltered & paranoid because of something relative to her father, which I think might be linked to our side-killa. :KEK:

She's pure, innocent, wallflower, only because no one can ever get close enough :)

I'm also expecting Alex to be the "ironic" hero of the story too, which wont last long for obvious reasons.

I have a better plot : Screw Dreamland, MC and Summer go back home and they spend the whole summer together making love every day.

The End.
But Summer's gone... oh wait :KEK:

Also now that I think about it, I've never met a girl/woman IRL named Summer, but I admit I only spent 16 months in the US, and in the UK/IE... why would you name your daughter Summer when you barely know what an actual summer is?

What I don't understand is why Mei's characterization changed SO drastically between the chapters. From her initial interactions and internal dialogues, it was seeming like she had helped plan this trip for the sole purpose of getting MC alone, revealing her feelings to him, and finally becoming a couple.

This truly sucks because I have always been a sucker for a "friends turned lovers" storyline in my AVNs (Zoey in Being a Dik, Eve in Summertime Saga, etc.), but now I literally don't even want to touch her storyline due to how much of a cunt she's suddenly acting like.

It could be anything, evil twin, DID issues, a more "standard" psycho, etc...

If you ask me the fact so many of us find her at the very least upsetting is a good sign in a novel (AVN/VN/etc...), if that's the intention of the writer, so long as it doesn't drag on forever because, this is not a book or a TV series/movie, neither a Kinetic Novel, so the suspension of disbelief as to why the MC doesn't just ditch her tends to disappear when we are given options/choices, but none to just "drop her".

Well, I tried the game and I can say that with friends like these, you don't need enemies.Wherever you step, there is a den of snakes. It makes you want to be woken up by Johnny Silverhand after you pass out and offered to burn the world down.

There is something really weird here, because the dev makes us "see" what Mei thinks like her inner monologues and she really talks like the normal Mei even in that flashback when she arrived at collegue the first day and then she acts all strang, the thing is that usually in narrative when you show how a character thinks is how they really are so i think the dev is breaking that law to trick us or it's just a bad writing? Also most scenes don't change if you choose her or not and if you do, that thing of "this girls are gonna take him away from me" should not go because she is happy that Jason choose her and she never complains about it, so i don't see a reason for her to do what she is doing if she is....

Man what the hell is going on with this game? I'm not saying I'm not enjoying it, but why is everyone a psycho apart from Summer and Alice? Also what was the point of that 'sex scene' at the end with Summer? There's literally no reason for the MC to not stay there and do it for real if you are on her path.

Trying to play devil's advocate (because I'd have rather that being a real scene myself), Summer is hammered, and while everyone around him is a psycho, the MC is a nice guy (so far at least), why would he jump on someone who's completely drunk?
I know, I know, but I prefaced it, I'm trying to play devil's advocate. :ROFLMAO:

Wow, it seems that every time Mei opens her mouth, she either says bullshit or extremely dubious information. Even if Alice is hiding something or pretending to be a naive, sweet girl, what are the chances that she managed to run across the entire pier and jump into the water after the MC before Mei? Or did Alice jump into the water from the other side of the lake and swim towards the MC while Mei was doing what? Counting birds in the sky? Even if Alice jumped first, why chase after some jerk when your friend got hit in the head and fell into the water? Mei's story is complete nonsense.

This game offers a pleasant change from other AVNs. It's as if every character has a hidden motive. I would say that at the moment, the only person you can trust in the whole group is Summer.
