GAH, just made it to the end of this last update. And I LOVE these kinds of stories. The tech related stories and a bit of spice are all just so good. Can't wait for the next update.
I guess, it is safe to assume that this game is dead now (after seven months).

I think we all know what it means when there is no update for a long time and a big message about some 'issues', 'new job', etc.
I wish I would be wrong, but currently I don't think so.
Yeah, that the quick cash grab copy strategy didn't work out as planned and now they don't care anymore. I'm honestly surprised they even bothered to pause payments.

Hello all,
With a heavy heart, I'm officially pausing development of DreamLink indefinitely.
Over the last few months I have needed to re-evaluate priorities and how much I can invest in the development of this game - life commitments, work, and my balance of risk-return have needed adjusting as I enter a new phase of life.
Having paused payments since September, I will be unpublishing this Patreon page a week from now, and will republish it should things change so that I can dedicate the time needed to do this story service. It's not a goodbye, but it is a hiatus, and I'm going to miss the awesome VN community around here - no doubt it'll bring me back when I'm ready.
I've truly appreciated all of your support so, so much since I embarked on this journey a year ago, and I hope I'll have the chance to see you all again soon.

Fuck. Did my usual scroll through my bookmarked games and saw this now. Didn't really care how similar'ish it was to a certain other game, it was still better than most the games on this site. Hopefully they get their IRL priorities get sorted, and can come back to this. Best of luck either way.
I think, people now have very unrealistic expectations - like after a few releases it will be more than a thousand supporters (or something like that) and forget that the fans want to see some results first.

This is from my memory and the numbers are from Patreon site only:
After two releases - about 20 patrons,
After the third release - about 40 patrons
Next release - about 80 patrons
And I checked a few days ago - 334 patrons.
The secret is simple - the developer needs to work to deliver some actions (plus periodically check the game thread and reply to people), so the fans see that you are going to stay and finish the game. The old times (with the numbers like BADIK) are long gone now.
So Noctus Games if you still check this thread - I hope you will see this post and continue your great game.

Unrealistic expectations? This dev was pretty open about what was happening, he even paused his billing because he couldn't work in the game.
I have seen other devs disappear for more than half a year but still keep billing their patreons sometimes without even posting updates.
Honestly I wish there were more like him... It's hard to make it into a profitable work specially in the beginning if you are new, so hopefully his other work can get him into a comfortable position and he can get everything sorted first so he can give it another try another time.
