I actually think it might help those smaller devs as the biggest games are incest right now. Without ads they might get smaller and smaller and those people will go support other devs. Hard to predict

The problem is alot of people are turned off and simply wont play a game that has step-incest instead of blood related/true incest. I dont really care, i will play the game anyway. Could be some dark times ahead of us.
Nothing wrong with some "quality family bonding".

Ofc, you're right. I'm not into it but I understand it fully. I was talking about market. Without ads incest genre might be a niche in a couple of years and all these patrons will have to go somewhere. I wonder what kind of game future will bring

I think people/devs will just move on to something new perhaps. Maybe some new kind of patreon thing might start up that is not based in the US. Or maybe we get minesweeper with some porn pictures.

I remeber when 12 years ago only high quality devs were those who were creating games out of hobby - Goblinboy and BBBen. Now we have hundred games with monthly updates but back than it was like 2-3 decent games per year. Hope it won't be like that (tho I would love it if devs were making games out of passion and hobby)

Creating games should always be about passion never money. But that's what most of the games on patreon has turned out to be about.
