Going public via Patreon is just like being employed. A developer just switches a regular boss with a group of people with expectations. It is a self-created problem and i don't feel a bit sorry for any of them when it comes to critics. The second i take money for anything i am bound to a commitment. 9 out of 10 struggle with this exact problem on Patreon as they underestimate the public's view on things.
Someone rightfully mentioned that he might be better of to switch to the 'per project milestone' patreon if the workload is too big to uphold the quality. The critics mostly evolves around his quality of work - which is actually a compliment to what he did before Episode 3. A background of the developer is completely outside the scope of what is discussed. Going life on Patreon means i am willing to commit. If my background or life cant support that commitment then he shouldnt publish to begin with.
