What OS do you use? Did you took correct link (PC version contains both Windows and Linux versions, MAC version contains OSX version).

There are multiple endings to the game. So if you want the good ending you gotta replay the game
Probably because the game is suppose to be a incest genre game and the original names had to be change to stuff like landlady because of Patreon policies. That's why there is a incest patch to revert it back to how it originally was. The dialogue will make sense again if you apply that.

. However, there's two spin offs for DoD you can play right now!First is a small, Christmas special that came out last year. It's just some nice little fanservice.

And then there's a prequel featuring Tracy as the protagonist. It has currently just started its first version but, like the Xmas one, it's more fanservice. Most importantly though is that it provides explanations for the characters and why they did what they did in DoD. If I remember correctly it's only going to be about 3 episodes.
