Update on the Situation

Hey, guys! What's up?

So. I haven't said anything on this Saturday's devlog because I don't have anything new to show yet. I've ordered the parts and am waiting for them to arrive. It's taking a bit longer than it should, probably shipping companies are swamped with Christmas' sales/Black November.

One thing I'd like to mention, however, is how you guys have been offering to pay for the new parts in full to get things back up and running as quickly as possible.

First off, thanks A LOT for that support. And it means a lot that so many of you were willing to do that. But it wouldn't feel right to me to put this much weight on any of you. Again, I appreciate it tremendously. But this is what your Patreon support is for, right? Setbacks such as these are "covered" by your support throughout the year.

If you REALLY wanna help, I'd like to see you guys here on this page for longer. Big shout out to those who are renewing their subs even in times such as these. Thanks, I really mean it. And to those who can't, be it for whatever reason, I TOTALLY get it. Your support has ALREADY been outstandingly helpful.

Let's keep this page stable and running, and we'll be back up and kicking in no time. That's the best help the game and I can get right now.

As soon as I finish setting up the new PC, I'll let you guys know!
Cheers!

So .. He quit his job, and is now just working on Dropout, and then his PC decides to self-destruct.
That's some bad luck.

I wonder if it was a hardware issue, or a bug in sleep or some other software that caused it to not suspend properly.

He said it was his 10+ year old power supply that fried the motherboard. Since he lives in Iceland it takes 2 weeks to get anything he orders, and the replacement parts are due to arrive on the 15th.

Between burning out his PC and the volcanic eruptions if it was any other developer I'd start to suspect it's just all excuses for delays. However, Lazy still has tons of goodwill as far as I'm concerned so here's to hoping he gets the new PC up and running quickly so we can see a Christmas release.

got to the point of coming home from the dinner, now the game doesnt wanna open anymore
check your anti-virus/security solution. some of them tend to have idiotic false positives so some of the files might've been deleted/quarantined by mistake. if you don't have one, look up how to unblock folders via powershell in windows (if you're lucky to not be on win 11). otherwise, you'll have to enter the properties of EVERY file in the game folder and unblock them.
