Even you fault GD for what he actually done (or in this case, haven't done), you still get labeled a defender of his, because of the former. Heck, you will even get accused of being the dude himself. This "mob" have a; "you either with us, or against us mentality", and rile each other up with claims and accusations with no actual proof or evidence. I had hoped society had progressed a bit further from the days of "burn the witch", but in some cases that not actually true -)

Totally agree. I dont know why he kept saying "are you with us or against us" NO! The only reason GD kept saying "coming soon" in March is to keep his subs/patron donation high. That time many people thought it will come soon but reality is he just want his patrons keep donating bcos that time many people are losing patience and his subs are on the decline if im not mistaken. And he did it again posting "coming soon" on june and after that gone silent for about 2-3 weeks and only yesterday he answer two questions and he dont even answer specific questions about music/animation on how the progress/completions. Feels like there is a hole on the guidelines on the "abandon tag" at least when Veqvil didn't release an update he man up and said hes f"ck up and he didn't take the donation if im not mistaken but on GD? He has manpower, Equipment and Money to produce the update and yet 1.5 years still none and somebody says "i need actual proof and evidence" LOL.

I said it, because, even you can be critical towards some aspects of how he operate, and less than ethical behavior. And at same time argue other claims and accusations need proof and evidence, you get just labeled for "defending" him. That's why there is this "you are either with us, or against us attitude". Sorry but the world isn't just black or white, its all these shades in between as well.

He been taking dips every month, but last months seems like claw himself back up again and even gaining. I don't think its returning patreons, more new patreons replacing old ones. The likelihood of them pledge due to find the game on this site should be next to none seeing the exposure he got here. But there is plenty of other sites on the net that host the game, or links to it. He already got enough of the game to garner interest from new players (possible new supporters).

If you take a game such as "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die" on steam. First chapter, and that is how the game ends. The game won't get completed, no more chapters added. You have no conclusion. Still the game on steam, people still buy it and play it. This with the discussion forum for the game clearly states, that's all she wrote.

End of the day, its the consumers choice where and how they want to spend their money. What great victory does it achieve to put an abandoned tag on this thread? Does his patreons get a brutal wake up call and all leave him and so forth? Will people even stop post about GD and bitch about where is the update? Highly doubtful. If get an abandoned tag is the only way to get one over on GD... man, I hope no serious challenges will face you in life.

Well, I never been one of his followers, nor been at his discord. So I never experienced his "followers" up close. I only experienced the rabble here -) Also saying to much/far in either direction is a bad thing, should cover both.

Seeing how "well" he does it on Patreon vs other more productive creators, who know, maybe he got a pr team....

I'm not condemning people for being disgruntled over valid reasons that is factual. It's all the other bullshit people try to invent on top with no facts, no evidence. It's quite a bit step from call someone a liar and at best a con artist, to start accuse them of doing child erotica, dealing drugs (laundering drug money), and shit with no evidence to go with it. Heck, seems no one can even provide evidence of that super secret 50 bucks room. And no one got interested in contact the animator he hired to do a query about the work done either, once it was proved he actually had hired someone.

There is enough stuff to blame GD for, no reason to invent more to pile on top. Hence the witch hunt reference.

Rythan25 , well you can argue Slonique deserve more support than GD, because although Slonique doesn't give people what they want, he does make content, and push it out regulary. Also I don't think anyone said hard working devs deserve less. Creator's isn't just creators of their games (or whatever), but also their own success, bring in pledges and interest in what they do. You can be the best creator ever and still end up get nothing back for it, if you fail at garner interest in what you create. Some people better at market themselves, while others might get held back by language barriers and other things.

If you have favorite creators that you think deserve more support and attention, then do something about it? If I support something or someone on patreon, it's in my best interest to spread the word and get more people interested in pledge. The better chance of the creator complete what he/she/they working on. Just talk about x creator deserve less than y crator because... reasons... doesn't change nor help anything.

Doesn't matter what I believe or not. If he make 8 bucks, or 8000 bucks, doesn't matter one bit for me. Just as it doesn't matter how much you earn or not earn. (or anyone else for that matter). If I should start talk about what people deserve or not, the list would end up mighty long. I see no purpose in single out people in that regard. I did pledge for 3 months like a year, and some months ago. I voted with my money, as should everyone else.

Instead you come and try to defend Gumdrop, and put him in a positive light that might sway indecisive or "dumb" people to actually consider supporting this scam artist...

Let the ones who made it their mission to steer people away from this dev and to other more "worthy" devs do that... no skin off your back, regardless of your own views on "what constitutes worthy"...
