Why a walkthrough...
It's different why I want a walkthrough for a game like Fallout and the games on F95zone.
The main reason comes down to the question: Is it end of content, a bug, or am I not doing it right?
Playing a game through multiple versions, the puzzles and criteria can change and doing what worked before and having it not work is annoying.
I'm willing to give an adult game less time than I would a mainstream retail game.
With all the non english speakers writing games, I often need a walkthrough to figure out what option I should choose.
I think that covers the main reasons I use walkthroughs for adult games.
You'll notice the most $uccesful games, gain/retain patrons by avoiding the complaints you make.
Each update is a day, a week, episode, or a level with a clear end. An abrupt wtf is there more? pisses away patrons.
A changelog, is not optional. Clearly state "added new brunette, but you can't fuck her yet in this version"
nothing drives away money faster than lies, and deception. If you screenshot content, it better really be in-game.
adding a bunch of tags for "planned content" says "look at me, i'm an attention whore, who doesn't put out"
your irritation about what worked before should work again... in development, sometimes changes are unavoidable
you're developing a fictitious story, not documenting historical facts. Early games can change a lot. a character's character evolves as you progress in the build. The beauty, who was initially eye candy, finds her role in the story as the pieces come together. Suddenly, she works in an office, and her past working at the bikini car-wash is out of character, for her new role.
If you liked her bikini scene, don't delete v0.2 it's there for eternity, even if it's cut from v0.3
I'm not opposed to walkthroughs, but in adult games they shouldn't be necessary. The main story should be linear, designed for the broadest audience, requiring minimal skill to complete. 40 branches of the story were missed by those who rushed through, but no one moans "i'm stuck, this game suck dicks" always give an out, that leads back to the main path. "i can't open this door, puzzle is to hard, so i'll skip it for now, and play again to try." vs. "i'm stuck in puzzleroom and can't escape... fuck this game"
