These recent discussions have clarified some play points for me, so I appreciate the discourse.
I have been generally frustrated by the almost absolute lack of progress for the husband/wife path. Despite multiple attempts at patching, nothing seems to heal this relationship.
Considering some of the comments you peeps are talking about, it's possible this path doesn't exist. If that ultimately turns out to be the case, I find this a horrible cheat. It's a massive effort to keep on the positive side of the wife and, if there is no eventual payoff, that is a crummy thing to do to players.
I look at games like GGGB, with their massive multiple plot threads and I see that a dev CAN create options that give you all ends, good and bad, for you to explore. Regardless of whether it's 3D rendering or line art, it's really plot and design I'm talking about here.
Yes, like most of us deviant players, my primary interest is in seducing the daughter, but I would like to also be able to see how and what a wife path would look like.
I don't want to presume. It's possible such a path exists down the development road, but I am made nervous and just a bit irritated if it never develops and the player is not given that information up front. That's a joke without a punchline or a Die Hard without a Yippee Kay Yay moment.
Note, I'm not talking about time delays or those types of complaints. There are so many games out there for me to get involved with while I'm waiting. As I have said, I simply suspend my pledge if I feel there has been too long a delay and wait to re-up when the dev is "back in the saddle".
But, to create a character, give you a "tracker" and then not offer a credible resolution? Eh, not nice.
