Maybe it's just me thinking about the great deal of potential the game can have?

Nah, you're not the only fellow on here that dreams of the potential a game can have if taken a few steps further. "The Evil Guards of the Merchant City: Lady Prisoners Underground" still lives rent free in my mind for a reason. The customization options could use some more care, but on it's own it's a mechanical marvel. I know of no other 2D H-game that, on paper, offers "so many different looking" girls. Something like that crossed with this game would be nice... I'm no artist though, so maybe Live2D isn't awesome black magic I think it is, but I'm still impressed by what was offered (from that which appealed to me, anyway).

The game development has been on-going since 2019 (If I remember correctly) and what we had in the current moment is the accumulation since then. I know that gamdev isn't an easy thing to do. I can kind of see it that it's not the developer main gig either.

They really could do wonder with some major updates and additions.

I honestly thought this game was already complete lol, another sobering thought. Even before coming here, I flip flopped in considering trying my hand at Game Deving and being hit with the revelation that it too is a massive time sink lol.

Progressed enough to run into Blue again, by far the most annoying thing is that all the gear and items I had on my character are gone now, so many bombs, decent armor and a good sword just gone T_T

Edit: I've just discovered that it tossed my gear amongst my party members instead, that's better but I really wish I had checked that first beforehand, cause I just spent so much gold trying to get it all back.

It will also put things in the temporary storage location if there's not room. You need to get things out of there before too long though, since it gets deleted from it after a while.

The more time you put in, the better you will get, at least that's for sure.

Heh, I couldn't find a free, archaic version of RPG Maker (I could've sworn it used to be free), so I've been thinking of trying my luck with Godot or the recent fork some guys made of it (which is another tangent all on it's own). I definitely want to learn and become proficient in coding (at least for my purposes), but the problem magnifies since I also want to hone the skills necessary to provide my own art for my projects... Anyway, I remember hearing somewhere that the ideal goal for a beginner or any Indie dev wanting to make an RPG is to clone the original Dragon Quest, for it's simplicity compared to other RPGs; that might be what we should try before undergoing the great task that is our unique visions, as a way to build foundational skills. In any case, I wish you luck in your endeavors.

To get back on the thread's topic, I reinvigorated my morale by cheating a little and borrowing a save I found on an earlier post. It isn't 100%, but there's enough to glimpse at many H-scenes I haven't seen yet. My predecessor seems to be fond of elves, heh, but the Dwarf girl barely got any attention. I'm steeling myself for the inevitable mid-game event, but I don't think it'll be long until I power through and get both the Dwarf romance scenes and the ones showing her capture at the hands of the Barbarians... Just gonna ogle at these unearned treasures a bit more before I restore my backup saves and continue earning progress honorably. Spoiling myself should help soften the sting of the inevitable...

Man there's just so much to this game. I've heard that there's a Magic Floating Bridge and Magic Boat spells but I ain't finding 'em anywhere, same with apparently there being a Levitate spell. Anyone know where I can find/get 'em at all?

There's a walkthrough (linked in the first post and included in the download) that explains things like that, but they're mostly behind story progression. The first you get is the bridge, after defeating the golem in Sapphire city you get a silver key which unlocks various doors. Heading back towards the first city in story mode you'll find it in a cabin along the way. The others are much farther into the story (IIRC).

Okay so I might've screwed myself again. Cause I did get that key, only found the armor, hadn't gone back to the first city cause I thought it was just for the armory, and then my stuff is now up in the air, cause while I did find some of the items and equipment I had spread amongst my party, I didn't find the 2 gems nor the key I had gotten. I'll have to check if they're in the storages at all.

That's a risk, since the temporary storage in the warehouse does get deleted after a while. Also, multiple save slots exist for a reason. Though the ccmod (I linked it in the last page or two) lets you use the item gallery to spawn anything you've already gotten.

Skeleton keys are mostly useless, though IIRC there's like 2 doors that need them. The golden is late game, after getting to the desert city IIRC but I don;t know the details off the top of my head. The walkthrough has the location of it though.

What is the difference between 1.41 and 1.42? I got 1.41 here but have scrolled through and am seeing people mention 1.42. Does it change much or is it just patches and fixes?

Mostly the special section are one offs, often options that will be a standard option in a later shop. There are a few times new items are added there based on story / quest progression, but if you buy them that's all.

It does not seem hard, from what I can see the data files and programming logic are inside the xp3 files, if you put other xp3 files like "patch3.xp3" it will overwrite stuff if you put the same files as the original inside, for example if you put something that will replace the texture of a sword with something else and put it in that "patch" when you boot the game the sword will look like that.

Now, adding scenarios, dialogue and the most difficult part: art, can be harder than programming,but yes, it can be modded into the game.

You lost to wild bull and girl got preg? Well lost cause then cause MC doesn't go for non-virgin girls and putting them in the same room just results in her sleeping so romance events are gone. You can still increase her affection by checking on her when shes in a different room but doesn't mean anything. She'll have sex with anyone but the MC.

Blue joins after you lose your powers when exploring the underground cave that leads to the underground city and hell lol
