It's actually implied Maria gets ntr'd during the period of time your thief friend and her leave at the beginning. The scenes they have at the beginning are clearly a set up for a romance between them, and then you find out that women in the guild they're working for must sleep with the boss, so ultimately they don't end up together.
No that's not what happens.
The only event for Maria is getting fucked by the hypno cult leader. She temporarily joins your party again during the prison break mission and you can check her H status.
You actually know Maria doesn't because she joins you for a few quests much later and you can see her sex stats and it'll always show her as a virgin unless you do that optional hypnosis quest and even then she's completely back to normal after that and can't fall for anyone. It is a little weird she's completely protected from any and all real NTR, but she is best girl after all so...
I really hope she gets added as a real love interest in an expansion or whatever, hopefully we'll get major update like Leanne 2 eventually did.
I too was always hoping for a Maria romance; though I would still be upset if she insists on preforming the same dwarven tradition as the player made dwarf.
Stealing the crush of that ass hole Max would be a bonus.
While it is very unlikely, I hope Max is eventually moved to the guest character slot. That would allow the use all five custom female characters in the story mode which, and this is just wishful thinking, could potentially lead to a harem route.

There is a new year, and there is also good news, the dev posted on their blog that an update is coming this month, it will add H scenes, new items and the possibility of avoiding NTR with the dwarf heroine. (18 CG, 2 new items, 12 new H scenes with Monsters, Maria and Sandra among them, and also the fix of the inn in the free mode)
There is also going to be later a second update that will include a change in the story regarding Riselle with a pure love route.
