Is there any way to turn get higher visibility in the dungeon, or at least get a general idea of where the stairs are? This is almost literally wandering blindly in the dark.

Also, sometimes these quests feel like wandering blindly. One time the fortuneteller said 'talk to Pila at the casino' and that helped by telling me to go to the Casino. Now it's 'talk to Hator' and I'm like who tf is that? Finally talked to the guard guy by entrance and found him, but honestly I can't remember all these names.

No. That's the intention of the dungeon, wandering blindly in a dark place full of monsters trying to eat you and hidden treasures to find.

Yes, the main plot keep going, with the variations of your choices. So yes, theres no way to avoid the main story events.

You receive it when you start a new game. You will find it in your inventory.
