No idea, but honestly unless you are very OCD you shouldn't worry, since it seems you can accumulate basically infinite inventory space, so a mistake like that won't matter in the long run.Arg, I placed an item somewhere and the game misplaced it 1 square away u_u

Would you be willing to teach how to do the save file editing? I personally just had some form of fuck up and ended up with a golden bear one block too far to the right and really want to move it back into line, and it would be amazing to actually be able to do that.I guess I can play this again. It isn't a terrible game. And its REALLY easy to edit a save file.
So it has been a LOOOOONG time since I did this. But I didn't use an editor so much as just manually affect the way my saves worked. First you should make a copy of your game. You can mess with your save at ANY time as the game keeps up with it. So one of the easiest ways to mess with it is to go right before you get a chest and make a copy. If the chest is a good item then save your new item data into the copy where you haven't opened the chest yet. Then open the chest again. Etc. You can keep doing this as long as you maintain a save that hasn't opened the chest with Walk.asd which tracks your map.Would you be willing to teach how to do the save file editing? So...Would you by any chance happen to know if when you create a copy of the SaveData folder elsewhere, does it update along with the main SaveData folder that's in the game folder? Because I tried doing that to pull what you mentioned, but uh...well, I can't seem to "go back" to before collecting the chest. It just keeps going as though I literally did jack-all.So it has been a LOOOOONG time since I did this. But I didn't use an editor so much as just manually affect the way my saves worked. Again its been a bit and I hope I am not remembering wrong. That said Idk how to make a change once you mess up. The board is infinite though so don't worry too much about early mistakes.
You summed it up way better than me. I intend to play again when I have time but hadn't gotten the chance with all the other new games that came out. Glad you were able to get it to work.So...Would you by any chance happen to know if when you create a copy of the SaveData folder elsewhere, does it update along with the main SaveData folder that's in the game folder? And like, I tried closing the program first, I tried just resetting it using the option in the program, but whenever I replace the SaveData files in the main folder with the ones from the backup folder I made for cheating, nothing happens. It continues from exactly where I left off anyway.
Or when you said "Copy of the Game", did you happen to mean literally the whole thing? Because if so, I suppose that might explain this weirdness a bit.
Edit: I'm not sure why it worked this time, but not the others, but I managed to get it to work. This time I closed the program and then copied Walk.ASD and Main.ASD from the backup to the one in the game folder. I'm still really not sure why it worked this time though.
EDIT2: Alright, so in case anyone else wants to try this shit, my limited understanding of it works a bit like this (As in, this is what I'm doing and it works for me, but I don't know enough about computers and programs to even ATTEMPT to make any guarantees, so back your shit UP before you attempt this): first make a safe backup folder or two of the SaveData folder from the game's main folder so your shit doesn't get wrecked while you try this. Second, have a backup folder you make when the game save has you just in front of a floor chest (one of the chests that every floor has exactly one of, which will disappear permanently if you move to the next floor without collecting it). Third, collect the chest and do whatever. Fourth, from here, close the program without leaving the dungeon, all the files in the SaveData folder the game is set to save to will update at some point around here or step three I think. Fifth, go to your backup folder with its data set at you being right in front of the chest, then copy Main.ASD. Sixth, go to the main SaveData folder and paste the Main.ASD file from your backup folder into this primary folder, when you are asked what you want to do, click the "Overwrite file" option, or whatever equivalent you're rockin'. I personally keep a window of the backup and primary SaveData folders each open along with the main game folder so I can just click from one to another as I need to.
Yeah, me too. Thank you for your previous reply and explanation as well, without it I think I probably would have spent several hours in an emotional freakout mode over the minor fuckup, but one way or another, I'm pretty sure that was avoided thanks to your response and explanations. You summed it up way better than me.
