Yeah this is kind of what I was saying, that they were stylistically made with a 2D/comic book design in mind. So it takes effort from artist to sculpt it a bit to smooth out the edges & polish it, which a lot of them don't seem to do. I've seen a few them say they don't really like working with the Rivals models for that reason.

100% agree. They're not ugly (obviously), it's their "comic book style" models that look weird and not suited for this kind of stuff, and personally I really don't like it.

No, I have followed this guy's update for months, he did even post it. Every time he said he would finish something sometime, then youll find soon that he just move on to next project.

Yeah, sorry I should've posted their first D.Va WIP back in late September as it mentioned it was gonna be a loop among other similar WIP gifs attached (kinda felt it was a bit derivative sending very similar progress posts and just wanted to post the most recent stuff). They said on Patreon in that September post that they're working on finishing the Kiriko project "ASAP", and that it's mainly taken this long because of learning/utilizing new techniques in their animations, IRL stuff, burnout, etc etc. I imagine this D.Va loop vid is so they can get back in their groove and post more regularly. When they will actually release this and the finished Kiriko project, all remains to be seen as they always end up taking more time to polish up their vids even after setting a date of release on Patreon.
