What I want to say is that the developer shouldn't fully relied on patreon to support his life, it is easy to be in the vicious circle between low production and low subscribe. Not true impo, no good advice !
I had seen some developers went all-in in full time developer and finally need to return to regular work as making game cannot fully support their life. Since the developer now are suffering from illness and it will cost quite amount of money to take recovery, it will be better for the developer to still have a regular job and slow down the development, which like the other games that have yearly update is totally acceptable.
First try to recovery your body then think about how to develop the game, health is always the number one priority.
