It looks as though the Dev's last update on Patreon and Subscribestar was for "Galactic Outlaws" on March 14th, 2023.
I'd say it's very likely they've taken a lengthy hiatus from game development and Ebony Paradise is abandoned.
unfortunate cuz this was surprisingly good and it's rare to find others like this.
