In my opinion the exposition is already there. It is made clear that they don't have much money, they're not even lower middle class, they have a single mother who is working low wage jobs and makes just enough for the family to get by, the siblings all going to the local college it makes sense that they'd still live at home.
even then I don't even think that is needed to show they aren't anything other than just a normal family. As it was clear to me with the way they act towards one another it never was gonna have any incest I never even got any of the typical incest feel you see in other games. As all the characters feel like they have their own lives separate of the MC and anytime spent with the MC is wholesome. That and well you never see the MC have those kind of thoughts or be a creep either.
Not completely sure, These devs are often silent for long lengths of time, so it doesn't mean it's abandoned. Last devlog was 1st April and they were starting rendering at that point.
