Hi everyone, hope you've had a good week.

Just a quick update to let you know that work on E4 is going ok. Can't give a release date just yet but I'm getting there. Still quite stressed about all the things I have left but we're steadily moving forwards. - mainly just a lot of renders to get through.

Hi everyone, just a quick check in as I'm pretty swamped:

Work has been ok this week, I got a lot done but not as much as I wanted to. There are a couple of new outdoor scenes around Elmwood campus which really slowed me down this weekend but it's sorted now and shouldn't be an issue in the future. So many things that have taken me ages to do for E4 should be super quick to do in future eps and that's one thing I'm really optimistic about.

But yeah, aside from some small hiccups things are going ok. I still have a lot to do and I'm still fueled by stress but we're making progress. I will try to give a release date next week but I'm sorry I still can't promise a definitive schedule. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, hope you have a great week.

TLDR: E4 UltraViolet early access will launch 29th August, other tiers will follow accordingly

Hi everyone, as you can see above I can finally confirm a release date for E4. But I know that this date might disappoint you, especially given that I'm saying this right before we go into July when I previously said I was aiming for July. I know that's very unfair and frustrating for you and I'm sorry about that. End of August will be 8 full months since the release of E3 and I'm not proud of that. But unfortunately that's how long things have taken me and I can't go any faster with E4 - I'm working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week and doing everything I can. A lot of things have taken much more time than I anticipated, particularly with some new tools I've been using for the first time (that will be faster to use in future), new characters and new environments. I'm really excited (and stressed) to show you this next chapter.

I wish I could speed things up but anything earlier than that would force me to release something half baked. The truth is, what I have left will take me no less than about 56 days of hard work. I really wish I could give myself some more time for testing and such but I just can't. I'm just going to have to work on overdrive for these next two months and give it my everything. I don't want to waffle on but please know that E5 will not take this long. While every episode introduces more branching, perks and such - the extra development time for E4 has primarily revolved around the things that are new to the game and I'm very confident that E5 will be quicker than E4 to produce.

Thank you so so much for your patience and support. Please know that if you wish to pause your subscription until release that I have absolutely no issue with that. Let's work backwards assuming 4 months development time each for Ep 5 and 6:
Ep 6 - December 2025
Ep 5 - September 2025
Ep 4 - May 2025 ?

so, about 10 weeks additional dev time for ep 4 would seem reasonable given the target timetable. However, this is pretty aggressive ... so I'd wager February 2026 for Ep 6, October for Ep 5, and June for Ep 4.

I don’t think he said the work for ep 4 is streamlining anything. Sounds like he’s adding a lot of new things like side characters like the rugby team and more model changes and I think trying to improve animation quality.

So the time taken to add all of this new stuff to ep 4 probably won’t lead to faster rendering time anything like that

Ep 5 should take the same amount of time as ep 3 if there’s no new things being added but all devs just take longer and longer

Was there not some mention of new tools that would help streamline the process in the future? But I am also referring to the new models he's had to make for this chapter that will now be available for the coming chapters since it sounds like there's a lot of them.

That and yeah, I've noticed every dev I follow gradually takes longer and longer between updates which is always a shame. I don't want the devs to burn out or anything but of the biggest games I follow, all of them are to the point of at least 12 months between updates now which really sucks for enthusiasm for the game and even remembering details of the individual stories.

Hi everyone, just a quick update:

Work is going well and I got a lot done this week. I still have so much to do but I'm managing to stick to my schedule and I'm getting through it. Not much to report except that we're on schedule for the 29th August and I'll continue to post previews on Patreon until then.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last update. I've read all of your comments and appreciate the advice & thoughts. I wish I could respond to each in the detail I want to but I'm quite pressed for time at the moment - I hope you understand.
