Thanks for the feedback!

  1. From a very practical standpoint we wanted to keep the coding for episode 1 "simple". This is our first time doing anything like this and we need to keep things manageable while we build up our skills. The absolute last thing we want to do is get too ambitious and have the game collapse because we can't manage all of the routes.
  2. I'm sorry you felt that way about Nick because that is not our intention. We fully intend on Nick being a likable character who has his flaws but also has obvious strengths. He will never be a predator. As a woman who has dated guys in their early 20s, we wanted to present a realistic portrayal of dating a guy who's 22. He's flawed, he's attractive, and he isn't too serious, but he's a fundamentally good person.
  3. Nick is a central point of the story for the foreseeable future. We know that can be a contentious design choice for games like this, but again we need to try and keep things on the simpler side.
  4. As for lesbian relationships- that's a complicated answer. The short answer is: yes. Our goal is to allow players (starting in episode 2) to explore Emily's bisexuality. As the season goes on, players will slowly be able to influence Emily's interest in women. However, don't expect a full lesbian-exclusive path. While we haven't ruled anything out exactly, right now we're leaning towards the idea that Emily will always have some level of interest in men.
  5. Oh god, NTR. We fear the NTR debate. We have no intention of making a game that leans on feelings of jealousy. Are characters likely to have some jealousy? Sure, but that's just human. But we don't want that to cross the line. We intend on showing sex positive relationships. Don't expect monogamy from this game, but we don't want that to become NTR.
u should add a not non planned tags,so u avoid needless war.

maybe my wording of predator was a bit harsh regarding Nick, just gave the impression Nick is bit of a sleeze ball in the cafe, i know people flirt but that was a bit more than flirting, it is early days so i can see things about nick can become more apparent in the future, i look forward to seeing how the game progresses, college is a fun time for young adults, so i'm not expecting Emily to only have one love interest/boyfriend/girlfriend that would spoil a college based AVN, im glad to hear you will not be going to go down an NTR route. for a first attempt AVN i hope it goes well for you

Did you get both routes through the coffee shop?

I should probably add to the OP that there are multiple routes through the coffee shop scene. And there are two possible endings.

Yes and no. The first few episodes will explore Emily's bisexuality/bi-curiousness. But after that our intention is to allow players more freedom to reign it in. Sorta like "Hey, I tried that, it was fun, but I've had my fill." In that situation, the throuple will be more centered around Nick, with Emily having very little direct sexual content with women. But no, you cannot completely avoid lesbian content.

We're open to MMF content, and have some early ideas of how we'd make it work. Gangbangs are not foreseeable in this season.

So, does that mean things will be forced in the future? Like we won't have choices on certain interactions and be forced to do things we might not like?

Game seemed pretty interesting and was pretty into it, but if things are going to be forced, I don't think this will be for me. I prefer having choices on that kind of stuff.

Minor note:
I'm not sure about other players, but - when I'm playing for fun (as opposed to when I was an AVN writer doing research) - I'm usually playing this sort of game late at night.

This is painfully bright.
Consider a dark mode option, or maybe just toning it down a bit from bright white.

ETA. Since your name is PurpleLineStudios maybe do something with more of a purple theme to it? Just a thought.

ETA. That also goes for the black text on white background for the dialogue box.

Longer post with more thoughts/suggestions.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I'm sorry, I seem to be getting a bit catty/snarky with my comments.
I really don't mean to be.
Maybe I should take a break and continue with this (in a separate comment/post) later.
Hopefully you can get something useful out of my notes.

Best of Luck! I wish you all the best with this game!!

I like how grounded ep1 feels and the character dynamics. Feel like devs clearly have a vision here and I hope that doesn't get lost trynna appease everyone.

I don't like the word "forced", but yeah there are canon events that cannot be avoided. We know that this can be unpopular, but the simple fact is that we're too inexperienced to juggle the development of purely optional sex scenes while still telling the story that we want to tell. We really, really, don't want to get into a position where development becomes a burden of juggling 100 different possible routes. But we also have a story that we want to tell, and that requires certain events to happen.

As a compromise, we try to give the player more influence over how the sex scenes play out. Players will either get the explicit choice about how the sex scene will proceed (not if it will proceed), or the scene will proceed based on prior choices made.

We aren't opposed to optional sex scenes that the player can opt-out of, and maybe down the road we'll get more comfortable with the development process where we can manage it. But for now we're trying to reign in our ambition and provide a fun game without needing a year to develop each episode.

Are we assuming, if the letters are correct, that ffm means the f interact with each other and the m and fmf means they just pleasure the m?
That's what I took from the question. Yes, the plan is for the player's choices to influence how the threesomes playout. We want to explore alternative combinations that tap into kinks such as voyeurism and cuckqueaning which we see as underrepresented in AVGs.

Sad to hear, as most definitely prefer having choices on who they are interested in. Never enjoyable when things are forced on you, especially in the case of it being something you won't enjoy. Not everyone will like every character, and it is going to ruin the game for them when they are forced to be with someone they don't like. Especially in a female protagonist game, as it starts to veer into unavoidable slut simulator style games where the FMC is banging anyone and everyone with no player control at all.

EDIT: At least you're upfront about it though now, instead of us finding out later in the game when it starts happening. So, thanks for that at least.

Not trying to change your mind or tell you how to do things, just my thoughts is all. Stick to what works for you and you'll find your audience. Just not my cup of tea lol. Still, wish you the best with this and thanks. ;)

MC/Nick/Luke is obvious one for now, and Claire give a very strong cuckquean vibes. I love this:

That is definitely hot. Cuckquean is still rare, even in male MC games, and I like Nick, he is not a fucking wimp afraid of women - good job there
