I've heard about the author's plans for a sequel to the story, but if he gets into cheap AI in the sequel, then I'm sure he'll lose many paid subscribers, there's plenty of this kind of quality on the Web and for free.

To be honest, I like this new design, specially Britt! I'm not a big fan of his girly look but in this new style he's really handsome!

Attempting Chapter 8 without a proper guide is honestly not the greatest experience -- did not realise how much I relied on the guide when playing the previous chapters. Looking through the code did help a bit, but too much of a hassle honestly. Hopefully we'll get a better guide once Chapter 9 is fully complete?

Yeah I'm really not liking the AI garbage 'art'. Yet another artist tempted by the easiness of AI and it all just goes uncanny valley. The originals looked organic, these just look stiff and 'too real'.

Majorly disappointed in KKChar for going this route.

I mean, did the main artist quit or something?
I understand the body can't always be consistent, but the faces keep changing???
I would've been okay with ch. 9 came out at the end of the year rather than being rushed like this.

Yes, there's a sex scene with Henrik in this chapter, but it's just as horrifically drawn as the rest. The sex scene of Brit, Henrik and Ralph is really drawn according to the old standards.

Using a real background against the background of the silhouettes of the characters is another extremely strange solution. I don't know what's going on at Patreon, but I'm sure many people will be unhappy with this "quality."

I'm just devastated by this new... “quality.” I only recently started playing with the intention of finally completing it thanks to the abundance of guides, and then this horror comes out. What should I do now? Quit the game before it turns into an AI slide demo? Finish it in my head? Because I'm not sure I can handle an entire chapter and epilogue with such... art. When I replay Cyberpunk 2077, it gets harder and harder to move towards the end of the game with each mission, because I know there is no happy ending. It seems that with Ergi, I will now have a similar experience, with each new chapter becoming harder and harder to bear as the end approaches.

The quality of the ‘art’ really is inexplicably bad after three years of high-effort renders. My only guess is that the current censorship scandal may Have spooked them into rushing something out just to get it out or something? Or their render artist was hit by a bus? They spent our Patreon money on Pokémon cards? No idea, but this nonsense is a damned shame.

Regarding the art, I was actually coming on to say about it, it looks utterly shit now.

EDIT: Adding to this since I forgot. I was looking through the art and some of the characters literally subtly change from one scene to the next. The quality control is gone.

How About Second Edits: I am on the discord and someone asked about the art changes. They said the original artist got sick so had to be changed but that cgs were "posted over time with plenty of fixes."

I suggested it was ai (which is apparently a blocked term on the server) and that the game has gone from having the best art I've seen to something I've lost all interest in.

Essentially just a thank you and mention of an epilogue coming due to "the sheer size and scope of development, we need more time to refine and resolve the issues for the epilogue scenes. Hence, this release is only for the main chapter. The epilogue will be released once we have resolved those issues."

So no, it's not complete. They got another 8 months of patreon money for chapter 9 and now however long it will take for the remainder of chapter 9.

The NSFW scenes are good enough and most look like the usual CG art. There's around a dozen side NSFW pics which are just blatantly AI generated slop that vaguely look like background characters (the kind of same-faced crap any person using AI could drum up) that feel really out of place even compared to the other AI pictures. At least half of the regular scenes look to be at least AI enhanced.

A one-sided blowjob from a blond guy who was hitting on Anders (I forgot his name), a one-sided kiss with Kare, which, by the way, I still don't understand why the author didn't make him some kind of secret love interest or something like that, but throws him into the chapter for a couple of seconds, and then he cleans it up again. And the scenes with regular partners look strange because of the new visualization, and therefore do not cause any positive emotions. The only thing that hooked me was, as I understand it, the threesome between Jostein, Jorgen and Anders, and the polyamorous scene with Britt, Henrikson and Ralph seems to be drawn by a human, the rest is complete garbage.

Someone has just said the chapter was released early (probably why the epilogue is missing) which might explain a lot of the crap cg and bugs. I don't think releasing early excuses what is clearly bad ai art though.

As I still believe as well, the chapter was released with the epilogue missing to keep milking the patreon money more. They said 9 was the last, the money would start to drop from now (maybe another month or so for bug fixes) then that would be it. This way they can drag it out. Or they just released it in such a state so they could drag it out with fixes that "need time".

Can you tell I don't have much respect for this developer anymore? I always found their patreon to be extremely predatory anyway and this is just making my opinion worse. I feel bad for those who invested more money into it.

Oh yes, some of the CG's are definitely missing. All LI's have battle scenes in various poses (together, apart, etc) but it's very telling in the NSFW scenes: all LI's have a similar pose on the same light background/area, and there are sex scenes in that background but not all characters have the full scene.
