The interesting thing with pivoting to this type of protag is that there has been success in the genre. Mage Kanade's Futanari Dungeon is a massively successful release from Diselmine that focuses on a futa protag. I think there's definitely an audience the dev is looking to capture, and it is a market that isn't saturated due to the contention around the genre.
With the quality of the game and the art, I can see it being on a similar level to Kanade's dungeon, so I'm hopeful the game will do well despite the reservations around the new protag.

Yeah, I have zero reason to think that this dev's new game will be bad. It's just kinda sad that this game was first teased more than a year ago (or two? I don't remember at this point), and for a long time the dev said that it will have 2 protags, and then it turned out that he changed his mind. In hindsight, it wasn't that surprising, because it would be hard for this dev to deliver 2 entire characters of game-scale content, considering that ErisDysnomia had a huge hiatus in the middle of development, and also considering that all the shown content was involving the futa protag, but it's still sad.
The new game will be great though, both in terms of gameplay and animations, I'm sure of that.

Honestly, this may be us hoping on a pipe dream, but if the new game does well and gains a lot of popularity, there could be room for the dev to add a DLC that incorporates a new character to play as with the base game since he would be building on the pre-existing structure...what if
