Hey everyone
Sorry for the late report! I had a pretty stressful week and didn't get all the things done I wanted. I also underestimated the time I would need to craft that last scene of part 2 and how many variants of individual renders I need. The constant loading and hiding of big groups of people in this scene really slows down the workflow unfortunately.
Here's the progress:

Release date estimate: August 2025
I did make a bunch of new background characters too, and I should be done with those soon. I think one more set of 6 characters will be enough to finally fill the scenes appropriately. There likely won't be any scenes with all these characters visible at once, but it adds some variety and realism if you're not always seeing the same 10 characters in the background.
I also spent some time making concrete plans on how I'm going to finish this episode in due time. I sat down and took another look at the remaining renders and other tasks. Realistically there's no real chance that I'll be done before August, so I corrected the estimated date. I took a look at my availability in the next couple weeks, when I'll get some days off work, etc. I've set myself goals for every week, which will hopefully help getting this thing rapidly closer to the finish line. My goal for now is to finish renders until August, and then take around two more weeks for sound, testing, and polish. So I'm aiming for a start of Early Access around mid August. I don't want to promise too much yet, since the goals I've set for myself are very ambitious, but I'll try my best to work towards that. I also already missed the goal for this week due to some personal stuff (and some miscalculations), so things aren't set in stone unfortunately. Nonetheless, I'm optimistic that I can speed up some more in these coming weeks and finish this looooong awaited episode in due time!

he could have released 3 updates by now with 400 renders for each update. (more than enough for an update!)
also why add more background noise(new characters) to the story?

Foolishness, better to wait and have a well done and satisfactory update than a short and mediocre one, there are so many Dev's that make ridiculously short ones that it's better to wait for several updates, and some are so infamous that they only last less than 5 minutes.

Besides, not everyone is in the mommy ship.

You definitively didn't understand what MorriganRae explain with the 6 new background characters.
They aren't new LI, not even new characters you will have interactions with. But just characters in the background of the scene. This update consist "just" in a big party. It will feel a bit odd and lifeless if you only see a couple of the same characters again and again in the background.

And, I don't care about the mom as a LI (didn't have any mommy issues during my childhood that give me the urge to bang my own mother now).
So, speak for yourself and not for everyone please.

I'm not a psychologist, but I don't think incest fetish always works like that. I mean, I don't have a sister, but I often find brother x sister and sister x sister hot.

But to stay on topic, can't wait for the new update. I only discovered this gem recently, but it easily became one of the top 5 games for me.

I did have mommy issues but still generally avoid mother-adjacent incest.

Well she already had an eruption towards Bella the Bitch, so she's blown off some steam early on. Though given the amount of stress she's going through right now, I'm guessing that we're getting an eruption at the upcoming party update, or soon thereafter.

I agree about Fiona, you are right, their friendship with Ashe is too valuable...Yes, and the others are not suitable for the good LI role, however there is one great candidate and she is closer than she seems. I'm talking about lovely Rachel, who deeply understands Ashe, loves her endlessly and supports her. And if the dev allows that to happen, I have no doubt they would make a great couple. (imo)

Eh, I have a good couple of posts as to why Rachel is arguably one of the worst people around Ashe. I'll do a brief summary of why I believe she isn't someone who Ashe should be around.

It's established that Rachel was basically Ashe's emotional rock when growing up, and did what she could to support Ashe since she knew Ashe was a neurotic bundle of anxiety.
Cue "the incident" when Rachel misunderstood what had happened between them and, in complete contrast to what she had done her entire life previously, she blew up on Ashe entirely. She knew what Ashe was like, she knew what to do and what not to do with Ashe and she decided to do the absolute worst thing to someone struggling with self-image and anxiety, while being one of her only two friends and sources of support (given that Ashe is unlikely to talk to her mom in the same way she talked to Rachel, given that her and Rachel seemed to be much closer, and the other being Fiona but unsure of the timeline of when Fiona came into the pic).
Rachel comes back, Ashe wants to talk to her. Rachel outright ignores her and acts like nothing is wrong to the point of Ashe blowing up entirely, which is again something that is the complete opposite of what one should do towards someone with anxiety issues, and especially family.

There are a few more smaller details that paints her in an even worse light, like the fact that Ashe and Bella constantly having beef when they were young but Rachel apparently never stepping in to resolve it, aswell as hints that Rachel seemingly only got together with Fiona because Ashe was there as a sort of awkward third wheel, but I digress.

It's stuff that will likely be overlooked by a lot of people if they haven't dealt with individuals who have self-image issues and anxiety issues, but it's something I personally can't reconcile with and I dislike how "handwaved" the conversation between them was as it felt more like Rachel only apologized because Ashe blew up and she knew she couldn't get away with ignoring it anymore, not because she actually wanted to apologize.

Hmm, it is already quite some time ago, but for me this felt genuine iirc. But I am also a simpleton, who usually goes with the obvious solution of things. I guess I have to go back and check when I fixed my computer.

Yeah it felt genuine to me as well. I Always felt she wanted to apologize since she came back but was too ashamed and scared to do so right away.
