Absolutely, we just haven't seen any evidence yet that Rachel has learned from her mistakes, which is why I think it's a bit premature to talk about their potential romantic relationship.

I mean, everything I listed, Rachel has factually done. You can argue about why she did certain things, but you can't argue about the fact that she actually did them.

It's even worse because she yells at her and tells her that she can't just attach herself to her for her whole life.
Considering I believe that Rachel was/is also in love with Ashe, then this is just manipulation. She knew exactly what to say to shut Ashe down. She was scared because of what happened and instead of facing it head on, she lashed out at Ashe, manipulated her emotionally because she knew exactly how to do that, and then conveniently used the trip to run away by herself for a whole year. She's a coward.
However, that's where character development comes and hopefully it gets resolved in a wholesome way. I assume she's gonna confess about how she felt and why she did what she did.
It's one of the routes I'm most interested in because stuff like this easily make me emotionally invested.

I think the biggest question mark in regards to the theory that Rachel was in love with Ashe is that Rachel decided to hook up with Fiona, the only other friend that Ashe has, and predictably they started hanging out less when that happened.
I would be very interested to see what the thought behind that was because it felt like Rachel was trying to isolate Ashe. Rachel even dumped Fiona once Ashe decided to just not play an awkward third wheel anymore.
She definitely seems a lot more manipulative and just outright fucking weird once you start looking at her behaviour.
In fact, the more I dig into Rachel's behaviour, she's either wildly incompetent and managing to choose the worst decision and behaviour at every turn, or she's malicious.
I think she requires, as noted previously, an absolute metric fuckton of groveling and character development in order to make up for all of that.. but it's not something that I think we'll ever get because they've "reconciled" via a conversation that had like 5 relevant lines in it and felt fairly disingenuous.

Maybe she really did all that to have Ashe just for herself and to be dependent on her. But then if you wonder why she acted like she did before she left, maybe it's because she felt guilty, but instead of confessing, she victimized herself in order to feel better and avoid responsibility.
And her not talking to Ashe after she came back might be because she wanted a reaction out of her, to see if Ashe still needs her. It was a good way to find out if Ashe is desperate to talk to her, by making her feel even more alone by not talking to her and avoiding her.
This probably makes her look very messed up. On the other hand Ashe thinks it's all her fault, so even the slightest attention from Rachel is enough to make her happy and content.

That's actually pretty interesting, don't think I've seen that theory yet and I can't really find many faults with it either from what we've seen thus far. It's absolutely some messed up behaviour, though Rachel seems to be a decently messed up individual whether she realizes or not.
It does explain why the 'apology' feels so hollow and disingenous, as it wouldn't have been an apology in Rachels mind, it would be an affirmation that she still has Ashe in her grasp.
I'm definitely banking this theory in the back of my head until further notice. I guess the follow up question if we entertain that theory would be if Rachel is actually aware of her behaviour or not, since that would atleast give us an indication of whether she's just a complete asshole or actually malicious.
It would also tie in pretty well with how basically every character in EI seems intent on exploiting and using Ashe, rather than actually caring for her (besides Fiona I suppose), and the dev seems to already be gearing up to have one fairly unnerving character in Delilah.

Hey everyone
Today's a special day! Exactly 2 years ago the first episode of Eruption Imminent was released . Time flies, doesn't it?
I wanted to take this special occasion to say thank you to you all, and to give a bit more insight to how this whole project even came to be
. And hey, maybe some of you might even be inspired to try your hand at developing an AVN? Wouldn't that be something?
Well... It all started in the year of the Goddess 2021, with a smutty wannabe writer sitting quarantined at home, slightly bored and slightly horny...
At the time I had exactly zero contact with any adult visual novels so far. My knowledge about so called "porn games" was antiquated at best, and I pretty much associated that genre with all these old 3-minute clicky flashgames from the late 2000s. The only other smutty games I played up to that point were a game called Corruption of Champions (a purely text-based RPG), and The Sims with many naughty mods installed.
So imagine my surprise when I learned of the vast sea of AVNs and other sexy games out there. I was like a little girl in a candy shop, full of wonder, and eagerly sampling and tasting everything. But I also found out rather quickly that the vast majority of these games weren't really catering to my preferences and kinks. So, after a few weeks of intense sugar highs, I came to realize that there was no more sapphic candy left for me to try .
But what I also realized, was that many of these AVNs had similar looking renders and the same game engine, which made me curious to try things out myself. So my dev journey began and I eagerly began watching tutorials and trying things out in DAZ Studio and the Ren'Py engine. And just to clarify, the only thing I had going for me at the time, was that I liked to write. I wasn't any prolific author by any means, and my creations weren't much more than cringy fan-fics, but... at least there was something there, right?
This couldn't be said for any other skills that could help me become an AVN dev, though. I've had exactly one photography class in my life, I didn't know how to code, I had never used Photoshop, no particularly useful computer skills, no noteworthy artistic talent, and no career in marketing, tech, modeling or porn. And I had never written anything longer than short stories, and most of them weren't even in English.
So... I was not particularly well equipped to start my grand career as a developer of the smutty arts.
But fortunately, after just one Sunday afternoon of Ren'Py and DAZ tutorials I had all I needed to start working on my masterpiece ! I immediately started crafting a dramatic and sexy and emotional and spectacular story. I modeled the most beautiful characters and created the most amazing renders. I was on my way to become the next big thing in the AVN space !
Unfortunately I realized two weeks later that everything I had done was actually crappy garbage . I learned so much in that short time that my current renders already looked 100 times better than my first ones. Oh, well. So I scrapped everything and started anew. And do you think I learned from my mistakes and decided to take on a smaller project better suited for my skill level? Nonsense! I of course created my next glorious project to be even more bombastic and magniloquent!
I think you can already guess where this is all going. For months I worked on projects only to eventually grow either tired of them, or realizing that they just weren't good enough for one reason or another. Eventually I started to switch things up. So some projects had a big focus on sex, some just barely deserved the 'A' in AVN. One or two played in a modern fantasy world, one was classic fantasy. Some had futanari in them, some didn't. One had a lovely MILF as a protagonist, one had some spooky horror elements in it, and one was even designed as a sandbox. Most of them never made it out the early writing and design phase, but I think I made renders for around 7 or 8 of these project ideas.
Well, in the end I didn't really believe that I would ever going to publish something anymore. So I took a bit of a break of it all and eventually got back to the roots to my earliest ideas and started working on a new take of it. This was in January 2023 and was the true beginning of Eruption Imminent. So, funnily enough EI is much closer to my first attempts at an AVN than to my later ones. At least when it comes to the core idea. The actual execution was miles apart, obviously .
I took some character models from earlier prototypes for EI and some locations as well and started working pretty much day and night on it. It was soon clear to me that this was gonna be it. Like, if I wouldn't be able to finish a first episode for this one, then it just wasn't meant to be. And luckily enough I never lost the flow and motivation for this one. Quite the opposite, I was super excited to publish it and see if other people would like it.
The first episode came out on May 22nd, 2023. The feedback was very positive and I gained my first supporters. And some of you are still here, since day one! Getting all these nice comments really gave me another surge of motivation and that's where the journey truly started.
A lot has happened in the last two years as well, four more episodes came out, with the sixth coming this summer... But I've already written so much more than I intended in this post, so I'm gonna stop here. I just really wanted to tell you all how grateful I am that you are all here and how much I appreciate your support, comments, critiques, discussions and patience. I honestly still feel humbled when I see how many fans this project has gathered by now . And I might even be able to do all this full-time at some point. Crazy! So... thank you all so much!❤
I also attached a pic of the lovely Jane, since she's probably one of the few girls you won't really see any sexy scenes in the game with. So I figured she'd make a nice model for a little bonus pic.
