I honestly applaud the dev in this situation. Too many games fall into a sort of "what do my players want" and shift drastically from the original dev vision, succumb to feature bloat, etc. I'm not saying that's necessarily bad or good, however. What I'm saying is applauding a dev for saying "I want to make a game about X, Y and Z" and sticking to it. When asked "What about A, B or C?", the answer being "This is about X, Y and Z" is refreshing to see.
It's also weird to me - I want A, B or C and I come to a game about X, Y and Z to ask for it? I mean it'd be great if it could but I also need to recognize that maybe this isn't for me then. Take a look at for example Sonpih's "Lust for Adventure" - He set out to make a generally male/male oriented game, and the thread was for a while almost flooded with "what about girls", and it took months of half-assed female content update for people to finally get the message that "Maybe this isn't for me", but by then the game has suffered a bit from it.
