Unreal Engine Escape from Zombie U: Reloaded [v0.2.0] [SodaAnimations]

I don't know how I did it, but when I gave the big breakdown of what this really is, I very much listed the wrong cutoff date for the kickstarter. It is NOT June 2. It IS July 3. So, there's a full month left on it.

They currently need to earn $100.39 per day to make it. (noting so I can track it later)
This is about the same as last Thursday, so they seem to be maintaining about minimum progress.

I will attempt to summarize and clarify for those of you who are reading through this confusing thread, and can't be bothered to do the footwork yourselves (not judging ... just saying ...).

There already was an "Escape From Zombie U" game released as an Apple mobile game in 2013.
The old twitter and related stuff for the previous game has not been updated in relation to this new project,
most likely because it was dedicated to a specific game, and this is, technically, a new/different game.

This is about a remake called "Escape From Zombie U:reloaded." Yes, the word "reloaded" is missing from the splash image used here, which is confusing. Ignore that. There is no Patreon or similar means for on-going/monthly support. This is purely a Kickstarter project.

The old game did not have any adult content beyond risque characters and outfits, and neither will the remake. The remake is not a mobile game, it is a fully remade PC version based on the same concept as the original game.

There is a bonus mini-game where the teachers "attempt to teach sex-ed to the zombies" which is pornographic, but that mini-game is a tier reward tied to the main Kickstarter ($40 tier). There are other rewards that include NSFW items, such as nudie pictures in an art book (a sample is available).

As far as I understand Kickstarter, this means no one gets any money, or rewards, unless the project is fully funded by the cutoff date (June 2 July 3, 2022 ). I checked their Kickstarter last night and again just now. They made somewhere around $100 in that time (and around $30 in the time it took me to write this). If they keep that pace, they should, theoretically, be able to get fully funded in time.

3 days ago, they allegedly started fulfillment for a previous Kickstarter of a 24 page comic called GodSlayers. They successfully got $5,610 of funding from 106 backers for that project. So far, I'm not seeing any complaints from backers, but it's only been three days since they supposedly started fulfillment. There's about 5 pages of it available to read on that project's Kickstarter page (which you can find by clicking on the artist's profile and viewing their previous backed projects).

This appears to be above board for what it is, and it might actually work out. Maybe. You just have to be aware that the main project is not itself a fully adult game, more like a mature game "sexual themes" type thing, but no actual sex. If you want the sex game, you'll have to dish out the $40 for the tier reward, or hope it gets shared here someday. Reward fulfillment for this project is expected to be December 2023.

No. This is a Kickstarter. No one gets anything AT LEAST until the initial pledge period ends, and they don't even take the money unless the get enough pledges to be fully backed.
Neither game is finished yet, and some of the rewards include polls about development.
Estimated delivery is December 2023. Some of the rewards may or may not come sooner, but no telling when for now.

Yes. You only need to pledge once with Kickstarters.

I have been loosely keeping track of progress on this. It seems like they have not been doing as well the last week as they were earlier. Their earnings per day are not meeting the minimum per day needed to make it happen. Unless things pick up or they get a big spender, this looks like it won't make it. They have 10 days left.

Well, how about that! They pulled it together and got it fully funded! I even saw a new backer sign on as I was looking at the page. I'd never seen it before. The numbers do the "rolling up" thing, lol!

So, sometime around December 2023, we can expect the game to be out.

It's basically just a progress report that further defines what the sex mini-game will look like, and a vote for backers on which monster to add next. I don't know the generic term for this style of game, but it's the kind where you are running to the right with an unseen force chasing you from the left. So you have to get to the goal before it catches up to you, and along the way various monsters will try to slow you down by attacking you (resulting in sex animations). And of course, the thing chasing you in this case is a whole horde of zombies (bigger losing animation if they catch you).

A reminder, a preview pic, and a little more info.

Remember, we get a lot of Patreon here at F95, where they take monthly donations and provide rewards and unfinished versions of games along the way. This project was handled by Kickstarter, and they don't have that same ongoing system. You make a donation once, and you may not (probably won't) get anything more than preview images and progress updates until the project is fully complete. I don't know if they expect the "mini-game" to be done before or after the main game, or whether they would release it early. What we know is that the release date for the main game is predicted to be December of 2023.

The other thing in the update is a poll for which monster they should design next, but that will likely only mean which one might we get preview images of before the others. It's not like there's an ongoing current build of the game to play. Any backers can cast their votes in the comments of the update. The options are (remember, these are ALL zombies)
1. a hulking foootball player (American football)
2. an almost cute looking cartoonish dog
3. a female
4. a skeletal looking snake with a human head

If you're still thinking of contributing to the game, you can, and they have some stretch goals (Additional stuff they'll add IF they get more money than needed for the main project). The first is a printed copy of the otherwise digital artbook. Later stretch goals include voice acting for the game and adding additional playable girls to the mini-game.

I'm sure this project will be exactly like pure onyx, where it will take years to finally see a good product, but it will be pretty satistifying.

At this point this is more or less the default in the adult gaming industry and the bad part is the satisfying part is a big gamble. Pure Onyx has been in development for what? 4 or 5 years maybe? And its still a bland side scrolling beat em up.

Anyways what does the naughty bits in this game look like? I don't see a no sexual content tag but no sexual previews on here or their twitter

Just a reminder, in reference to fears they might "milk" the fans or otherwise drag out production. This is Kickstarter, not Patreon. Contributors make a one time payment in exchange for a specific reward with a predetermined due date. If the reward is not provided in a reasonable time, they can be forced to return the money. Kickstarters have actually been sued before for not fulfilling their rewards, or even for the rewards not being close enough to the original design.

i see the questions well i say for the kickstarters that piad 40 or more i see that is not fiar for them i say to the dev make the game on steam the mini game as a dlc and all the artwork for 60 bucks for steam i say that is a good idea since i see the highest kickstarter is for 60 bucks
