Okay, I think I found a solution. It's weird, but I think this game is a mess.
First, place all the bread down as you walk past. Then pick up the wine. Then, as you walk past, place the wine down everywhere you can, and also the bread.
Then, finally, put the wine down where you put it before, RIGHTMOST.
For some reason, that worked for me.

Yep, that worked!

Honestly that was the only puzzle that had stumped me because there's no real indicator that you're doing it correctly. only way to know for sure is to go to the door and risk a lengthy sequence of capture scene, hitting retry, then slowly walking across the hall back into the dining room.
