wtf is wrong with that guy NanakoAC who complained about excessive monologuing in the reviews. That's literally how the writing is good.
Yup. imo, one of the things that makes this game interesting is this feeling of being psychologically manipulated/transformed/dominated/powerless/pushed-through-your-limits. And most of MC's helplessness can only be convened and understood by the player through monologues. If MC can't monologue and think, it destroys one of the main purpose of the game so... :sneaky:

I'm really mixed on the latest update, the first half of chapter 2 was good. The second half, less so.
That spanking scene in the garden is awful. It felt like it stretched on forever, so much time spent on internal monologuing, flipflopping decisions on punishment, reactions, people zoning out and repeating orders, etc. It was far too much stalling and buildup for something that is pretty darn vanilla, and the tamest of the lewd scenes so far

I can understand building atmosphere, but there's a limit to it. At a certain point it starts to just feel like padding out the game, and wasting time

First of all, I don't know how it looks on your screen, but it looks like this on mine:

Buttons are big?
How come these buttons are big? Compared to what? I actually enlarged them to 24 because the default size of 16 was too small for the game screen height of 1440px. Now the size is 1/60-th of the screen height.

A lot of buttons?
Yes, a few more than default, but they're taking less space because back, skip and auto buttons are compacted to a few characters max and Q.Save and Q.Load are now just Q.S and Q.L. There are only 2 buttons added to the default configuration: Load and hide UI (on the far right).

Split instead of the middle?
Yes, I tried to make the UI less intrusive than Ren'Py's default and as transparent as possible to cover less of the background image, without losing much of its visibility or functionality. The idea behind splitting buttons to game play related buttons on the right (back, skip, auto, hide UI) and all other buttons on the left (History, Save, Load, Q.S, Q.L, Prefs) is to cover less of the central area of the background image where usually the focus of most scenes is located and move buttons to the corners of the screen.

If this is not your cup of tea and you want your buttons smack in the middle of the image, then sorry. Right now this is what you get from me. :sneaky: It may become more flexible in the future though.

It's true, but I now know why I was being overly critical of it.

It's not so much the size or the amount of buttons. I see your point about that.

I will give you the reason as to why I prefer the quick menu buttons in the middle. Yes, the focus is usually in the middle in most scenes, but you already have the dialogue blocking that part anyway, so a few small buttons under that feels less intrusive than it being on the sides. If I really want to see that part of background, I'll just press H to see the full image.

What I now noticed consciously is that the buttons are fading in and out when there's a transition from one image to the next. (not all, but quite a few) So you see a new image and then half a second later the buttons come over it. Which puts the focus on them coming back and that's a bit annoying.

It almost feels wrong to be so critical, cause I do very much appreciate what you're doing with that mod!

Great mod, it probably tweaked my actual biggest constructive criticism of the game -- the text box being too bright and blocking the images. Thank you!

I think you're the first person ever telling me that he likes to press the H-key instead of looking at pretty much the whole picture all the time and hit H only if text by itself still covers the part you want to see. :D
I can here speak only for myself, but the usage of the H-key or middle button for me has decreased about 99%, compared to the non- or partially transparent text box. And I can still see more of the art than ever before, details I never noticed before, because I had no idea about their existence behind the box.
And most of the time there just isn't that much text there to cover too much of the image to give me a reason to hide the UI. Non-transparent text box covers up to a quarter of the image, no matter the amount of text in it.

And yes, if you put it that way, the menu in the middle only becomes an annoyance if there is a picture to look at under it. If there's just a text box, then who the fuck cares :ROFLMAO:

I don't mind critics, it helps me to see it from a different point of view and improve some stuff that I can improve, if I do see a point in what I've been told about it.

I do have some advice for Henissart if you're gonna implement a quick menu. I would look at how Philly Games does it with The City of Broken Dreamers. The buttons are very small and hardly distracting from the artwork.
Yep, I'll have alook at several solutions soon and see what I can do. Most likely I'll do transparent image buttons at the very bottom of the screen. The implementation of that is really simple, it's mainly designing them to look nice that will take some time.

I haven't tested your mod, but the issue might be that I don't use the default transitioning behavior in Renpy. I go through every single transition in the game, and if it doesn't fit I manually change it. That happens a lot because the way Renpy handles them by default is pretty terrible. I don't think many other people manually tweak, so your mod might be uniquely out of sync with my game.

I'm so intrigued on how the story will play out. I found myself really getting into the characters thanks to the amazing writing. Isabella really interests me and I can't wait to see more of the mom. Definitely going to keep my eyes on this!

Oh, what a pretty game with lots of good characters and a great setting! I wish I could play as one or more of the women even for a scene or two so I could hear their thoughts instead but it still isn't too bad for a male MC game.

I thought about the occasional scene from a different POV but decided against it after talking about it with a few people. Teasing out what's inside the head of the other characters is where the fun is. Once you're inside their head that gets easily ruined.

What I might do instead is a scene where Heather is forced to tell the MC about something that happened earlier when he wasn't present. You would essentially get a flashback scene narrated by Heather. That way you get a glimpse inside her mind from her retelling, but she could still try to lie or withhold uncomfortable information. If whoever forces her to tell the story lets her...

Yeah, I understand that completely. Being honest, I just want to abuse Heather and would only care about the dominant females' thoughts. :) I have a guess for later plot that Liz is basically me now and Isabella when younger but we will see. Thanks for not making the male a complete beta/incel/cuck looking loser that seems to be everywhere with "femdom" games.
