VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.8.5 Public] [Caribdis]

Without a doubt the best game of its kind, each update surpasses the last. And Caribdis has such great musical taste! I still can't believe they created an original song (Good Friends) so amazing for Annie's scene.

So much work. I'm speechless. Don´t need to say more. Excellent! The different scenarios, the girls (liked even the plump ishari girl, for a change). Thank you for the full emotions. Of course, something of what would become possible in 20 years, or so.

I've played a lot of h-games, hundreds and hundreds (hey man, don't judge) but this is without a doubt the best of them all. Storytelling, humor, visual quality and sexual content are all top notch. Even the soundtrack and work is a good level above even the best peers.

I wont spoil anything or talk in depth but I urge anyone to give this game a spin because it is truly an amazing piece of work amongst so many others. I hope the quality with future updates wont take a hit and all power to anyone involved making it, Eternum is absolutely fantastic. And if you love it as much as I do, consider supporting the creator. Not many creators truly deserve the scratch but this one certainly does.

A highly acclaimed game, but sadly, it suffers from the same shortcomings as many other AVNs—it tries to tell too much while staying within its limiting format. The dialogue, in my opinion, is a bit too juvenile. Some jokes are really good, but the overall plot lacks significance.

The MC morphs and changes too much from scene to scene. He doesn’t have a well-defined character because the author constantly adjusts his behavior to fit different scenarios. The love interests are also far too one-dimensional—most don’t act like real people.

The plot has aged like milk. The VR, MMORPG, Isekai, and Fantasy genres, which spawned from SAO's success, have been done to absurdity in Japanese anime. The problem is that the plots are predictable, offering nothing truly innovative, and this game follows the genre playbook so closely that I couldn’t help but get bored by the premise.

It’s still good, just not the storytelling juggernaut I was promised.

I like this story. I dive into it completely. there is a good variety of music. interesting and memorable characters. there is also humor. from the first minutes it was interesting to read. and now going through it for the second time I notice a lot of things that I did not notice before.
I am looking forward to the continuation of the story..

This VN has a lot going for it. The models are terrific, the scenes are top notch, and the story is pretty interesting. But the thing that I think makes this one of my favorite VN's is the banter. The back and forth between characters that is silly and fun makes for a good time read. I often find myself just fast clicking through other VN's to get to something interesting, but with Eternum I read every line of dialog.

Not many times can I say that a game has had me constantly waiting for updates or has me up late finishing the story not even for the scenes but just to savor every moment of each update that come ever so slowly but are made with such care and dedication that it bewilders the mind.

When I first began Eternum I was beginning in the 0.3 version of the game and ever since I got those banger scenes and story I was hooked. Every update added more and more P E A K. The comedy in the game is great, the romance makes my heart burn, the story makes me feel like the thinker pondering the meaning of humanity only to be brought back to the sight of some of the finest women ever designed like D A M N. We got everything blondes, red heads, brunettes, Chang, and even latinas and so much more like Caribidis DOES.NOT.MISS. Such a rich story beautiful animation and by far some of the best cliffhangers I have had from a game like this.

If Once in a lifetime was the appetizer in the Caribdis library then this is the main course. And even when an update is read once twice even 3 times over or more I still come back to this cause as I said before they DO.NOT.MISS. So I wait patiently for the next installment knowing it will in fact be PEAK.

(Btw Penelope's motor madness is the best scene by far hope to get another one with them cause DAMN)

Probably one of the best adult games out there. There's an intriguing story, full of references, humor, action, romance and drama. Excellent choices in music, well rendered models, likeable characters, and absolutely banging sex scenes. 100% support this dev and give this game a go

The name of this game comes up all over the site and in a lot of sigs, so I finally decided to give it a try

I can't see where the positivity comes from, the game is just ruined by loooooong boring fantasy world bs. It's hardly an adult game. it's closer to kids TV.

The only few redeeming scenes like being in bed with Alice(?) are ruined by comically large penis thigh fuckign her from a weird angle that in the end just makes it look like she is trans rather than a sex scene

The graphics are dated, I dont know the name of the style but it does not appeal to me, however with good enough writing a game with these graphics can still get your imagination going. This one does not.

The renders are so-so. A lot of overly busy scenes and womens bodies that change proportions every other image

The writing doesnt have many errors but it's not good. The situations that lead to nudity etc are close enough to being convincing but are not well thought out. In the end the dialogue is unnatural

As usual the easter eggs and comedic charm of Caribdis 's games are on point. I found myself laughing so much, rooting for the characters at points where I found myself even talking out loud encouraging the character for the next outcome or plot point.

It is an amazing roller coaster ride. The plot's with Caribdis's games tends to veer a bit, but overall they are great, Eternum is no exception.

I haven't completed the most recent version yet, i'm partway through the Halloween Party, and it has been a blast. I'm excited to see where things turn up, and if there's more to Idriel and Calypso.

The scoring and music selections are top notch! I found new artists I really liked, and some old favorites!

I just wanted to say what a good game this is. The MC growth, his doubts and motivation to finally accept his love for the girls is very captivating. The romance is really well written and the world building is phenomenal. The sex scenes are really well animated and the game is not a fuckfest, all the lewd scenes have some kind of purpose inside the story (which is my favorite setup). Keep up the good work, Caribdis.

Excellent graphics, story, characterization, update frequency. Hard to find better than this in the genre. Only criticism I would offer is sometimes the pacing of the dialogue is a bit slow, it feels like big story moments are reserved for the end of updates.

The two HIGHEST RATED games by far on the site are from the same Dev, you don't need any more reasons to try.
With more than a thousand positive reviews, it is undeniable that the game is well made, with lots of details and does well in all important parts: characters, art, sex scenes, plot, humor, gameplay, ambience.

But with all this, many end up doubting, is it really all that??
This review is to advise you not to think that way, trying to find errors, defects and cons, just to contradict others, in the end this will only make YOUR experience worse. Of course, you may not like or think the game is not all that, but play it casually just to have fun and I'm sure it will be worth it

The base story is an obvious rip off of "ready player one", i have no problem with that as there are plenty of movies i would love to play as a AVN but the way its done here is pretty bad with a lot of the story being solved by hacking instead of actual game-play.

The writing at the start was interesting even if a bit dry but after a while you realize how little of the writing is actually important for anything and it becomes a chore to keep reading.

Sex is ok although the scenes focus too much on the MC and the girl is kinda left to the side, the lack of kinks is a huge disappointment as given the setting practically anything could have been done(kink paradise server) but instead its boring normal sex all the way.

The character choices are pretty terrible, at the start its a standard do obvious good thing and get reward or pick anything else and don't point builder but regardless of what you pick or how many points you have the MC will still want them, as for story choices well they don't do anything(seriously nothing unless you count skipping scenes as something).

As for the main characters the LI's are the biggest problem, most are just horrible stuck-up rich girls, rude, unstable or just plain creepy and you are given almost no time to change that first impression before you are given a final "choice" to want them or not which locks them out of the rest of the game regardless of any of the point builder "choices", but even with the couple of normal women its hard to want to be with them as doing so feels like you are forcing them to do stuff they don't want to do, this wouldn't be a problem if you could choose to play the MC as a bad guy but there is no option for that, he's a white knight simp all the way.

Which brings us to the MC who simps way too hard and his personality takes wild turns like suddenly becoming a tough guy, paranoid conspiracy theorist, scaredy cat or even rarely a playboy, through his biggest problem is he is unnecessary, it occurred to me about half way through that the MC isn't and hasn't been needed for anything so far, the whole story could have been done without him and with the exception of his he still doesn't do anything the rest of the game.

This is my personal review of this magnificent game. The story that this game offers I think is one of the most structured stories that I have ever played so far for this type of video game, it manages to make you completely immerse yourself in the shoes of the characters and their adventures, managing to distract you completely from the outside world and offering you many comical and intriguing moments. The story is really very original, it manages to mix many aspects of real life making the game much more realistic and immersive. The graphics are spectacular, I love the design of the characters, the environment and all the aspects that the game offers, so much so that it makes you imagine this game no longer just as a Visual Novel but as a real game. The sounds are perfect, even if maybe some additional sounds regarding certain scenes would not hurt. The gameplay is very linear, so much so that it manages to keep you glued to the game for hours and hours without ever getting tired, but also to allow you to take a break when you need to then start playing again when you start to feel the desire to continue from where you left off. Performance-wise I didn't notice anything bad, even though I have a good computer; the only problem I encountered was during the scene where I was selecting places to visit for the magic competition in the realm of magic where Penelope first landed in Eternum, where I noticed a drop in fps and a crash as soon as I selected an area, but it could also be due to the fact that I was playing for more than 6/7 hours straight, apart from this I never encountered other crashes or low performance. I noticed some small bugs in some multiple selections where I selected a choice and the game took the other unselected choice forcing me to go back to re-choose the right choice, it happened very few times and not always, maybe always due to the long session I was having. Currently I have nothing else to add, I think it's truly a wonderful game and I recommend everyone to play it!

Eternum has the current best ever story in all of VN history. I have played over 200 of these games, and let me tell you - Eternum is a class apart.

• The MC is generally likeable
• The dynamic between all LIs is amazing
• The humour is on point (slightly cringe maybe 5% of the time, which is insane for an AVN)
• The story. The world building

If you have never played a VN before, do NOT start with this one. It will set your expectations too high. Come back after experimenting with some other decent ones, then play this.
