I mean...the simple answer is that Eternum - as great as it is - wasn't what he was looking for.
That is totally fine, moving on.

Because I realize that not everyone may have the time to play the game all over once 0.6 releases (I sure as shit will be diving headfirst into the new content), and because I wasn't aware of any lore changes myself until I read your post here, I followed the link in that message you cited and I'm going to post it here for those who want to see it.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. If my eyes don't deceive me... that's Calypso's "prison".
Does that mean he changed it so the new update's lore makes more sense or has a better tie-in? If so, we might be getting some juicy Calypso contentBecause I realize that not everyone may have the time to play the game all over once 0.6 releases (I sure as shit will be diving headfirst into the new content), and because I wasn't aware of any lore changes myself until I read your post here, I followed the link in that message you cited and I'm going to post it here for those who want to see it.

Could tie with a possible revelation that not every "NPC" in Eternum is a dead/excommunicated person (which is what the entire NPC system and the revelation at the end of 0.5 seem to imply). Could potentially be the end twist for this update or something, I dunno. Again, we'll see I suppose.I feel like having Calypso just be a conscious Weapon of Atlas is way more engaging than tying her in with the whole "NPCs are actual people". Isekai-wise I find this could provide the most entertaining scenes going forward; not having all your eggs in one basket and all that. But that's just my opinion I guess.
I'm still not sure how this will play out in the end. For one: There really can't be THAT many people getting excomunicated and turned into NPCs in the first place or people would start asking questions. Also there would be the danger of people meeting the NPC version of their dead friends and/or family in Eternum, raising even more questions.Could tie with a possible revelation that not every "NPC" in Eternum is a dead/excommunicated person (which is what the entire NPC system and the revelation at the end of 0.5 seem to imply). How I look at the implications of the latest update, combined with much of the current speculation (mostly by Dorfnutter) is that NPCs aren't just excommunicated people, they're all "harvested souls" from either many sources of death or straight from the afterlife. It could also be that whatever realm/realms Eternum actually is, assuming it's not just a bunch of extremely advanced computer network space, is the afterlife, or various versions of spiritual planes of existence, and most of the NPCs are captured lifeforms of those realms, with excommunicated souls just filling out the existing roster of NPCs.I'm still not sure how this will play out in the end. So, how many NPCs does Eternum even need? It seems a lot of functions are supposed to be filled by actual players, but in a normal MMO you still need tons of NPCs for Quests, Guards etc.
And if you can have "normal" NPCs...why even use dead people as NPCs considering all the massive risks that would be involved with that. So yeah...as far as I'm concerned, Caribdis still has a lot of "explaining" to do and "it is just a very rich and powerful company that can get away with everything won't be enough for me, because that (thankfully) is not completely how the world works.![]()

I don't know...do we actually have solid evidence for that? I mean right now we aren't even sure how mystical or technical "Eternum" (the game in the game) really is. Yes, we know from OiaL that their are supernatural elements in the "Caridbis Universe" and through Luna at least some of them seem to "seep" into the closer "Eternum universe" as well, but even that isn't really much explored as of now. As I wrote before: Right now we only have Luna claiming she has that power and little else...like we haven't seen it in action or Luna predicting anything for example that then happens to one of the characters. How I look at the implications of the latest update, combined with much of the current speculation (mostly by Dorfnutter) is that NPCs aren't just excommunicated people, they're all "harvested souls" from either many sources of death or straight from the afterlife. A Matrix-like VR that some people can somehow enter via dreams even before the VRMMO and the nerve implant themselves came to the market (as implied by the Isaac tapes in Andromeda and Orion's "Bleeding Case" (which has the hallmarks of a "waking dream")), yes.So far Eternum still seems to be a "Matrix-like" VR you're logging in and under certain circumstances your conscience can't leave if you die in it.
For example we don't really know what happened to Wyatt when he died in the "real world"
There's some extrapolation that can be done from the party alone, mostly based on Caribdis' past works plus the nature of what we've seen from the MC through the first five chapters. First, we learn that all NPC's have the chips. Second, we (and presumably Axel) see Benjamin has been converted to an NPC (which is also an assumption). These two facts alone lead to a strong implication that all NPCs are probably some kinds of controlled, living entities; either spirits, souls, aliens, etc. And then there's the talk about the founder and "The Eternum Lady" ... both of whom seem to be different somehow.I don't know...do we actually have solid evidence for that? We only know that that can happen when you get excommunicated because that is the only fully confirmed example we have, right? We don't really know what happened to Wyatt when he died in the "real world" Did he get excommunicated as well? Did he kill himself and somehow was able to choose to stay in Eternum? We can only be pretty sure that is conscience remained in Eternum "somehow".
Well to be precise, we can't even be sure that consciousness remains in Eternum when excommunicated. All we've seen (albeit even that is just a theory in-lore at this point) is someone getting the ban hammer and die in the real world. And someone who died in real life apparently roaming around in Eternum (who for all we know could be just a "save file" of the possibly best player in the world or just someone masquerading as Thanatos).I don't know...do we actually have solid evidence for that? tbf i always download form recent not from rating, but yeah almost all of the 500 games i played are unfinished and a lot of them are just cash grabs releasing 1 update per year, like harem hotel, or summertime saga, those 2 are very good games but with all the money they are getting they could easily release another game of that size every year just an example but ths happens to i could say 80% all the games easily...So you're telling me that you've downloaded around 150 games and you're complaining that - barring JP games - most of them are unfinished or abandoned...which implies that none of these games here are on that list of 150 games. None. Is that what you're saying?
Because if so, yeah, I'm with Son of Durin. You DEFINITELY chose poorly.
So, out of around 500, MOST of them have been abandoned?i dont think thats the case, just right know i have 150 games downloaded and i download about that quantity of different games every time i have changed pc wich since 2019 has been 4 times so i played minimum 500 games
not abandoned only like 5% are abandoned but 75% are WIP and the other 20% have shit rushed endingsSo, out of around 500, MOST of them have been abandoned?
I reiterate, either you have chosen very poorly, or you are lying.
I meant what happened to him in Eternum so that his body died, but his conscience stayed in Eternum. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

So you're here complaining about a well written, well paced VN with regular updates. SMDH.not abandoned only like 5% are abandoned but 75% are WIP and the other 20% have shit rushed endings
