Technically it's virtual reality but you're still awake in the other side so you can just turn off the Device or log out in middle of the scenario.

But in Eternum your Entire body goes into sleep and you feel what's happening in game, The case is in Eternum the only way you log out is going into an Exit portal, you can't just log out in the middle of game (cause if you shut the Device down you might go to coma or die)

And the killing thing is Part of the Game, (technically there are safe servers where killing is not allowed) even though you die, it really won't kill you IRL

The thing is even it is in Eternum rape is still rape (and the trauma it'll give could ruin someones lifestyle) and the objective of the game is collecting gems by fighting each other and raping someone doesn't make you progress in the game at all. That's why it's ruled to be illegal.

The way luna killed those random soldiers with pyramid head would definitely cause trauma. Regardless of whether or not it is allowed, getting killed especially if the game is realistic would ruin people psychologically, give them ptsd and ruin their lifestyle same as rape.

But that said people are overthinking this. Its a porn game and a fun harem romp. This is similar to a lighthearted action anime where you can just sit back and have fun playing. The storytelling is fun, I like the characters and the game looks pretty. I dont want to ruin it by overthinking every little aspect.

The difference is they are mentally prepared to die (and knowing summoning is a part of game they expect things like that) in game unlike rape.

I mean look at Jerry that guy died a lot of times and by the looks of it he is already used to it. :KEK:

That would only be the case if deaths were instant but they are not instant. We have seen people fight with bullets and swords. Getting shot and not dying instantly or getting speared through the gut and slowly bleeding out is not something you can get desensitized to. Stuff like Jerry's deaths are played off as a joke and it works since this is a lighthearted novel but it is not realistic and it does not need to be.

Like I said earlier, this is ultimately just a lighthearted adult vn. We should all just enjoy the ride and the cute girls without overthinking every little detail. Trying to make it realistic and imagining characters like luna and annie capable of inflicting pain and torture completely ruins it for me. So I just treat the game as the lighthearted anime-like game it is and dont overthink things like player deaths.

The quote in parenthesis was meant to be the exception, not the norm (since there are likely deaths in Eternum that the player didn't see coming and only realized it once they find themselves staring at the "You Died" screen).

And getting desensitized after dying a lot isn't a weird concept to think about, considering the matter is also explored in other stories where death and resurrection is a normal thing and you see people shrugging it off after a while (i.e. Altered Carbon, The 6th Day).

I normally do not like posting too serious and try to skip over this entirely where niche "preferences" or views are debated as if going against them is somehow actually bad. There is no winning this or getting anywhere with people like that, so just a friendly reminder that that list exists for a reason.
