The only thing I can see causing confusion with this is the harem route. Will Cari have to think of all the different possible harem combinations based on people being on and off particular ladies' paths?
Iirc Cari mentioned on Discord that harem end is only unlocked if ALL of the girls' paths are active. So if you lose one, then no harem end for you.

I hope Eternum doesn't begin to branch hugely into different paths because it will take forever for future updates. I am happy with the perfectly well-written linear storyline.

You have the dialogue scenes that can differ for each of the LI's depending on you being on their path or not. This usually works quite well on a per-path basis for large parts of the game, until the harem becomes more and more official. According to Cari this will be earlier than in OiaLT, so that would normally lead to more potential scene variations.
The simplest and most likely solution is of course, if you are not on all paths necessary for a conversation between e.g. three or four LI's, the scene just won't trigger or have rather short alternate scenes as a substitute. That has people not on all paths potentially loose more and more content, but it was quite clear that harem is canon in Eternum, so that is likely how it's going to go.

Endings I agree with Dorf, going off of OiaLT there will likely be a Harem ending, Solos, maybe a secret ending. More seems excessive.

Considering that one of the servers that we'll be visiting is likely Andromeda (based on the batch of sneaks preceding the latest one), it's likely that the choices we've made back in 0.4 and 0.6 (iirc one of the survivors in the Collector whodunit said to look for them in Andromeda) are going to affect whatever happens there.

But other than the choice of survivor in the Collector whodunit, the Ekabar choice likely affecting the Great Hunt event, and the Amulet of Blair and Polyjuice being Chekov's guns that will fire later on, there's not much branching path that's likely going to affect the outcome of the main narrative (other than the Amulet tho that's more of a bad ending waiting to happen) nor something that can't be solved by mere change of dialogue or a few differing renders.

Of course, that might change in this upcoming update, especially if said update is going to lean heavily into advancing the main story in a big way and provide branching choices and such. :HideThePain:
But you also have some smaller choices and changes depending on what path the player is and all of them need at least a small cover-up, changes in dialogue and so on and those pile up even in a mostly linear game like Eternum.

Ah sweet, so a kind of "all or nothing" which only results in two paths: harem route or non-harem route.

I was dreading Cari would do multiple different harems for all these combinations of ladies and it would be a nightmare for him to navigate and the final update becomes a 2 year wait!

Cari solved this problem masterfully in Oialt. I cant imagine s/he will fumble in Eternum; rather, the quality will probably just go even more up.

If I'm not mistaken, Caribdis already said it probably won't be in November. Personally I don't care, as long the game continues to be great as usual. I much rather wait for a quality content than a rushed product.

His cliffhangers at the end of each release are a type of teasing though.
Thing is, I've never felt terribly bothered by his cliffhangers. He hints at what's behind the cliffhanger, so it's ok. Don't know if he does it on purpose or not.

I will start to get bothered if after the current cliffhanger something unexpected happens. But otherwise eh.

Hello, I've recently started to read this AVN, after reading about how much people praised it on other game threads and the premise caught my interest(it reminds of the first half of Sword Art Online first season premise, when the Eternum MMO was brought up in-game). So, I'd like to share my thoughts on it. Currently I'm close at the beginning, just after the first day at school. From the characters Orion has met so far, I like Chang and Annie, because they have good friendship chemistry with Orion and few good jokes I've seen in the story so far (Chang having a legitimate interest in Michaela, was unexpected and the Dark Souls 3 Vordt's Boss theme completely unexpected for me and got me a good laugh), Nancy and Dalia are wholesome and I like Dalia's Tomboy attitude, Penelope is a bit too vain for me, after the first meeting with Axel I'm waiting for bad stuff to happen to Orion after he punches Axel and I think he deserved it for not hearing Annie's "No", Luna's looks pretty, but her introduction scene was a jumpscare though after that pretty wholesome. I'd say, Annie, Nancy and Luna are my favorites from possible romance options.

Now for the DREAM. Or should I say the Nightmare. The moment I saw room and the little boy, I was, "Please don't turn around, please don't turn around, please don't turn around.". Luckily the boy didn't have a jumpscare, but the next scene, the Lady in the Ruins did, and oh boy I was not prepared. The "Twinkle, twinkle little star" song rendition from Dead Space trailer(that I learned about from MandaloreGaming's review of that game) was my first sign this is not going to be a nice scene. That one still spooked me easily. The question I had after the DREAM, was - Does Orion have an experimental Ulysses Implant and he doesn't know about it, because he says he doesn't own one and he doesn't play Eternum, or does he have some sort of repressed trauma? Guess I'll find out following the rest of the story. So Thanks to the Devs, I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.
