VN Ren'Py Eternum [v0.8.5 Public] [Caribdis]

A question for those who play the updates, how is it done? I mean, if they add new content, they just start from the beginning or use another method.

This question may seem very idiotic, but I am an idiot and the question complements me.

My strategy has been to load from the beginning of the previous update, replay it and then continue playing the new update. That is, when 0.7 is released I will load the war scene that marked the beginning of 0.6 and play through both 0.6 and 0.7. It's a good way to mentally get back into the game after a long break, and ensures that you've played everything at least twice which helps you remember things.

Besides when playing the new update I tend to be too excited and rush things a bit too much, not really savoring the release, so it's good to go back and do a slow playthrough later on.

Or, you can be an idiot like me, and have nearly a TB space filled with just Ren'py games, versions of game, mods for said games, save-data saved in folders with game-data removed, wallpaper graphics for games, etc.

I have 7 external SSDs ranging from 2tb to 8tb drives. Most of them contain Daz stuff.

I think I've only 450GB in "F95" games on my SSD.

A lot of them I've never really played.

Same. I need to clean my drive out. Again. I only play like 6 games.

I mean with an average size of around 4GB that would still be 20 games.

Of course the same metric would mean that 2 TB would be around 500 games...

Just kidding, projections based on previous development cycles put the 0.7 update at late February/early March. For the sake of a sustainable dev I think early to mid of March might be the best guess

Not sure the first 900 or so pages would yield much information about the now upcoming patch anyway, so you really only have like 100-150 pages to search through.

So, the OP says game version 0.6.2. But, every file to d/l only says 0.6. If the files are actually 0.6.2 then they need to SAY that. Most renpy games don't tell you the version info anywhere when you are playing. Some do, yes, but many don't. So, it would be nice to have the correct game number in the title of the file. I don't see why that is so hard to grasp.

Eternum shows the current version in the Credits screen.

Also 0.6.2 doesn't really change much compared to 0.6 outside of some corrections for typos, some changes with the quiz in regards to Twitter being X now and like one screen you only get when you fail anyway.

I haven't even bothered with installing it so far.

Finally got to Etermum. The game is huge and it's just a blast, in two evenings I'm only on Chapter 2. I haven't progressed that far in the script, but I already understand that Alex is a best girl.
