Sure, could be, but Luna and Penny kinda need a scene just to keep up and Nova's also seem pretty certain considering we had sneak peeks showing her all...flustered.

In the end believability and plausibility in a story are kinda more important then "subverting expectations", even if "some" writer might disagree. If something is done just to "subvert expectations" it is just plain crap, most of the time. Could Cari do it anyway? Yes. Could he do it in a way that works well? Probably. Will he do it? I have my doubts.

Did he specifically say lewd scenes? Because I seem to recall that he didn't like how people seem to quickly predict/guess how an update is going to go by just looking at the sneaks (like how one of the biggest issues of modern movie trailers is that they quickly give away the most important moments of the story), hence why he changed how the sneaks work this time around (that is, more sneak posts but with less image count each and even more vague shots with no context to keep people guessing).

I 100% agree that Luna and Penny definitely need scenes to catch up. But while we are kind of thinking from update to update, Cari is focusing on the longer terms. Not looking at how things are at 0.6 or 0.7, but how the game will be once it's completed. My theory is, if each girl has the same amount of scenes in the end (more or less), it's fine from his point of view. And it does not matter to him whether 1 girl was behind very far at one point. This would just mean that for the upcoming part of the game said girl would have above average lewdscenes to catch up.

I don't really remember the exact wording, sorry. However, I don't see a huge difference there. Just imagine, playing 0.7 and we've had a scene with Luna and Penny, and now the date with Nova is scheduled. You are 2 hours in the new update, so maybe half an hour left at best. You think: Okay, let's see what Caribdis made with the Nova scene. But then, suddenly something unexpected happens. For example, Orion traveling servers again without actually playing eternum and saving Calypso from an emergency or a "unique" setup (like the Nova / Maat scene) and you get a scene you never expected to happen. I could see how this would bring great joy to an author, even more considering the troll he is. But it's just a thought I recently had.

Stupid as I am, I think I got the X-Ray glasses. Is there any way I can check or do I just have to remember it?

I don't know if you're using a Mod but you might be able to check stats within it.

Otherwise, you could upload the URM tool and use it to search for the variable and see what it says. If it says "xray" or something, then you got the glasses; you'd then need to search definitions to see if you can find the defined term for the "pendant" and make it the "chosen" object. I'd expect the variables to be defined with a "Y" or "N" toggle that you'd simply switch over.

I think the variable for the item is "chopchop"
Shovel: chopchop = 0
Pistol: chopchop = 1
Glasses: chopchop = 2
Pendant: chopchop = 3

You can upload your latest save
You must be registered to see the links
and search for "chopchop" to change it. Or alternatively you can simply open the console right before you die and enter "chopchop = 3"

The problem I think with that line of thinking is that it makes the sneak peeks kind of like a "bait and switch" which may anger some Patrons who are anticipating potential scenes based on the sneaks. Currently the sneaks are heavily featuring Nova, Luna, and Penny. Nancy, Annie, and Dalia are shown as well but they are not as prominent as the other three (tho Nan seems to have more screentime in the sneaks compared to Annie and Dalia). Furthermore, it's possible for things to be both "predictable and unpredictable" at the same time. Like if you've played 0.6 you could be anticipating a Penny Meiyo scene, but from what we are seeing we're having a surprise trip with her in Ekabar instead (plus some real world stuff with her during the update). Same with Nova, we could be having the One Piece date but it'll be interrupted because of a call to go to the New World, so we continue our escapades (and maybe a scene with her there) instead.

Point is, Cari has to balance between making the anticipation bear fruit and throwing a surprise in the works to keep things fresh. You can't just keep doing the latter because those expecting the former might feel betrayed and - worse - pull out their support if they happen to be subbed to Cari's Patreon/Subscribestar. But you can't do much of the former because it makes things predictable and eventually bore people. Balance is the key.

Oh yeah there were actually 6 counting Astaroth not 5, always forget the Japan guy, still I've always assumed all of them had people working under them... even if they don't show up in the game. But you have some great points, Azazel was alone in Japan as far as we know at least, maybe Astaroth judged the Grimoire too important to delegate. Also something clearly went south in that hospital, with the experiments I mean, maybe that's why Lilith was the only one left, and I thought they came after MC and the Harem themselves cause they knew MC was powerful as well like Astaroth and also discovered that Asmo was helping them, it's been a while since I've played for the last time tho, might be remembering something wrong.
But I agree, in Eternum things are way more well structured, the antagonists, the lore, the characters, it's Carb second game after all. It's bound to be better. OIAL was one of the first AVNs I've ever played so I guess I just didn't pay much atention to the details.

Maybe I need to replay but I can't even remember what Charlotte did to cause the gang to treat her that way, just hanging out with Axel maybe?
Picking on her saggy tits seems pretty mean spirited since she cant really do anything about it, except maybe joining Eternum and only playing on low gravity servers :LOL:

Probly treated that way 'cause she's part of the Populars with Axel and of course she's also your typical stuck up bitch she's got saggy tits so that's cool I guess, probably to contrast her inflatable ego. Gotta hand it to her though, she's able to resist Orion's deadly rizz.

The only times they went after MC was during the Japan trip (Azazel) and after Jasmine's party (Samael). For the most part however MC and his harem were never in danger from the cult...at least, when you compare it to Orion (who is currently being confronted by William with an escort of hired goons as of the end of 0.6).

A competent one would continue to hound them by sending cult zealots/acolytes to mess with them (which would be in line with Astaroth's declaration in the secret meeting that he no longer wanted to skulk in the shadows), but we saw none of that happen throughout OIAL's story. Really makes you wonder if all that talk about being an all-powerful cult with many agents all over the world is just empty bluffs and shite.
