This is the kind of stuff that makes me question if William's lore bomb is completely accurate. Because while it sounds like he got most of the details right, there's still a lot of stuff unaccounted for: namely the existence of Idriel in Limbo and why she and the dead are reaching out to Orion of all people, why the souls of the dead are trapped in Eternum since it's implied that the Founder simply stumbled upon Eternum already being in such a state, why the Weapons of Atlas were created by Idriel, what the Gems of Doom actually DO when they are completed, what the deal is with the Syndicate in all of this...yeah, still too many unanswered questions rather than answers IMO.

The Founder seems like the type of person that would let William think he found out all the answers, likely telling William a very watered down version then letting him search for the truth behind the Founders back all the while the Founder is manipulating what info William gets. As for Idriel I get the feeling that she is some kind of special being, like a god of the afterlife and by trapping her in limbo is how the Founder got most of his control over Eternum. Orion has the 100% compatibility score which is why the dead are seeking him out but why he has that compatibility is still a question. Parentage seems unlikely and right now it feels more like someone who has talent for basketball or math, like maybe he has some mystic or psychic power that allows him to communicate with Eternum more than others. Since this world is connected to Once in a Lifetime, while they may not share story lines Once in a Lifetime canonized mystic and supernatural phenomena in this world so maybe Orion is just gifted in that. The weapons of Atlas feel like Idriels way of rebelling, at the same time it feels weird that the princess was made by Idriel so maybe they already existed but Idriel manipulated them in such a way as to be used as weapons against the Founder. The gems of doom clearly weren't made by anyone, they feel more like the Infinity Stones, fragments of that world crystalized into material form, or there was some nexus of power that was destroyed and the gems are fragments of that. Maybe the xenomorph threat is like Eternums way of cleaning house because of that event. For the Syndicate...I don't really have anything for them, but while I was writiing that all out an idea came to mind.

When that happen Idriel is weakened enough for the Founder to trap her in limbo allowing him to take control but the Nexus splits into the gems of doom and the resulting chaos allows the Syndicate to take action. All 3 sides know that some humans are more compatible with Eternum than others so they all seek to manipulate the chosen one. The Founder thinks he will be a good candidate to gather the gems so helps him along so that he can one day take Idriels place and rule over Eternum or maybe just fuck off somewhere to be a god. Idriel helps because she wants to return to power and hopes you will help her achieve this. The Syndicate want neither to win and desire some other outcome, maybe they want the chosen one to take over or maybe the chosen one can decide to sacrifice themself to create a fixed Eternum.

While Idriel does seem rather concerned with the wellbeing of the dead that could be in a "If the dead are gone I have nobody to rule over" way. Also it's thinner than a Japanese sliding door but Idriel does sometimes show up in 3s similar to Cerberus the guardian of hell which could also point to an even higher power we are not aware of yet. The Syndicate kind of feel like that mysterious 3rd faction that you don't really know is a faction until later and you kinda forget about them until they pop up doing mysterious stuff. Like I almost expect them to show up one day with a "We were the original rulers of Eternum and it was a glorius time but then Idriel came and messed it all up"

Right 10 years since the world knew of Eternum but it likely existed as long as the universe has so there's no chance Orions parents even knew of Eternum let alone be affected by it by the time Orion was born unless they turn out to be mystics that just so happen to know of it because of mystic reasons.

Also one last point, Orion never set out to be a hero, that was never his goal. He never saw himself as one and never strove to be one. At most he tried to help bad situations when he saw them. I never got the feeling that he ever really wanted to be the hero as the story progressed either, I mean Idriel basically dropped that whole "You are the chosen one" bit on his head and he was confused more than anything.

It wasn't. But then again the dead have been reaching out to him ever since the beginning of the story, so it's not as if this entire quest to not give the gems to the Founder or anyone else didn't come out of thin air. It just goes to show that the dead are just THAT desperate if the champion they have chosen sounds like he's the least likely candidate who has different priorities in life. But sometimes you don't get to choose your heroes. Sometimes you just pick them because they just happen to be the only one you can reach out to, and so they have to live with that (though I'm still really curious as to why they chose him for the job, so I suppose that's an unanswered mystery best saved for another update).

I do admit there are a lot of subtle hints that he is starting to get arrogant. But there is such a thing as being too subtle which also implies the arrogance is still at a very low level and that never changes up until the final moments of this chapter.

Yes... but not via variables. The VN's gallery unlocks based on specific images seen during playthrough. This is then recorded in realtime and maintained via RenPy in the associated persistent file. Make sense?

Essentially "gloating" his plans to Garrington (even revealing Caly's abilities) instead of keeping it to himself...

At that point he HAD already won he might as well have been saying water was wet, it was a forgone conclusion. True he did in my opinion screw up by revealing her powers but at the same time what could he really do with that knowledge to hurt him? Garrington couldn't stop it nor could he really use it against Orion other than being aware he can do it. Sure it might come back to bite him and it would be a perfect way to show off his arrogance, but they didn't.

Being quite cocky with Caly despite the latter vaporizing someone just a short while before this scene...

They spent quite some time getting to know each other, he knew what boundaries he could reasonably push, at worst she might scold him so it was a low risk high reward kinda deal. It's like the Nova kiss, he assumed she would be ok with it because of what they had been through. He was mostly teasing the princess not seriously thinking he would actually succeed and he was actually a bit shocked when it does work.

Because he was the bigger threat. At this point he had been training with some of the best Eternum had to offer, and that guy was not one of the best. He accurately judged him to be an inferior enemy and acted accordingly. Arrogance is often defined as unpleasantly proud and behaving as if you are more important than, or know more than, other people. Yes he was acting superior to that thug but that was after he already proved that he was superior. If that thug had resisted and countered Orions response would have been different. Also arrogance is vastly different when you claim you are superior to someone without any proof. Like if I say I can take on 100 UFC fighters without ever having stepped into the ring that's high arrogance. If I do beat 100 UFC fighters and then say "You are all beneath me" well at that point I kinda proved that they are so that's low arrogance. You're not boasting about your skill you're stating a fact.

There's still a possibility that Idriel is Anima or is the source of the Anima myth (kinda like how certain stories from other cultures find their way into other cultures and are adapted but it was so long ago that one thinks it's essentially their culture's story). Being the overseer of the Nexus seems to imply that she is the one responsible for sending the projections to the worlds of their choosing, and we know that Anima from Caly's tale has the power to open gates into other worlds.

I'm also wondering if Idriel was chained by the Founder or that she and the dead were chained there long before the latter came into the picture. William's infodump seems to imply the latter though (as well as Caly mentioning that she was imprisoned in her box by the immortals).

Also I will laugh if one of the "right questions" that Idriel has been waiting Orion to ask is "have we met before?" And then it's revealed that Orion does have some sort of tie to her in the past (which, as I said earlier in this thread, would explain why she seems to be quite fond of him).

As for the Syndicate, I already shared my thoughts in this crackpot theory here. But they could likely be anyone, really. Maybe they're aspects of Idriel that exist in Limbo that she sends to help Orion, maybe they're manifestations of Eternum itself guiding someone to help restore things to its natural order, maybe they're just a bunch of crazy Eternumites who have no idea what they're doing but are being sent messages or visions via the Bleeding Effect to guide Orion and keep himself from getting killed, that kind of shit. Guess we'll find out later.

how to trigger the final scene of penelope. tried multiple playthrough but still unable to trigger her 3rd photo shoot scene.. any specifics??

Edit: so Penelope's path was closed thats why the scene isn't triggering. I had to manually re-enable the penelope path through the mods to trigger the event but I dunno which part it suddenly closed. any ideas which triggered to disable penelope path? i was following the walkthrough guide.
