I think the consensus is end of December like Christmas. Always Take with grain of salt ofc.
If by "before Christmas," Caribidis was referring to the public release, then the high tier Patreons may get it early December.
We'll just have to wait and see with the next status updates.
The last one went from 81-85%, the lowest increase of the cycle, after the longest stretch without an update. So it's all up in the air.

Pretty sure it has been pushed at least about a month back compared to what was likely his initial planning, if we look at the earlier progress reports. Also of course there is a difference between Demon Lord release and public release...the latter one will most likely be next year anyway.

as far as we know, this delay wasn't intentional, everything pointed to a novemeber release for demon lord iter, but those pc issues happened.
Updates are usually big, so you will be fine if this is your standard.
Another Update should be rather soon. Depending on your reading speed and interest in an actual story, you might start today and will be ready when the new Update is here. You will play a few days with all the content until now.
update on progress. for v0.8 on 86%. the devs keeps the update progress on their discord server.
so perhaps new update next month?

Jokes aside, I remember the last update was out just a minutes after Caribdis release it, so I'm sure it will be the same case with the 0.8 update.
