This game, is not my first of AVN's over the years. im 33, and for ME this is by far the best Ive ever played. I wish I had disgusting amounts of money, cause Id fund the rest of this games development alone and pay the creator to make a sequel. Omg ending of 0.85 UGH honestly the first cliff hanger that didnt make me wanna flip a table

Trying to start up the game, it gets to the first loading screen (the one with the loading bar), then this error happens:

Any way to solve this? I could play no problem before, but had to factory reset my computer and now I can't.

Did you restore the game folder from some backup, or reinstall fresh after the factory reset?

You should also check what's in your Roaming Ren'Py folder. You can access it from %APPDATA%\RenPy If all else fails, then you might want to consider wiping that folder. BUT BEWARE, this will delete all your saves from all your Ren'Py games. So if you go this way, make sure to make a backup of the whole folder before going ahead.

I reinstalled fresh after the factory reset, shamefully I couldn't create a backup thanks to some other problems, so yeah, all from 0.

And I acces %appdata% roaming and I do not have a RenPy folder

I though maybe you were getting errors because of leftover files from your previous install, but if you don't have a RenPy folder there, then there's no chance that's what's happening. I'd try downloading the game again, see if it's just a corrupted file from a broken download.

Very well, thank you.

As of now I've tried downloading from both Pixeldrain and Mixdrop the entire game, both links led to the same result. Now I've downloaded Part 1 from Gofile and I'm now waiting for it to finish the download of Part 2 from Mixdrop (because Gofile didn't let me) before I try to unzip them.

I downloaded it in two parts from two different servers, as well, and had no problem. So I don't think that will be the cause of any trouble. I hope re-downloading fixes it for you. If not, I'm not too sure what else to look into, sorry.

Wellp, its a nope, double download leads to the same error, it must be something from my computer that may be failing or I lack something? But yeah, for now it seems I cannot play it. And on phone Idk even if would even run since I have a crappy phone, and no space haha.

Also I got this two errors while using 7zip to go from the .rar part 1 and 2 to the .zip, and then unzip it:
Eternum Extract Error 1.png Eternum Extract Error 2.png

Yet I just extracted it again and no error appeared the second time.

But are you getting the error when running the game or when extracting the ZIP? Because the previous messages were Ren'Py errors, but this seems like you got a wrong check when extracting.

I added those extraction errors as additional info, I didnt do so before because by simpy extracting a second time it seemed to properly extract what was missing the first time.

So yeah, the real error is when trying to run the game.

Alright, if you had those the first time around, then the problem is with the extraction. The ZIP is corrupted, and so one of the files you're extracting gets corrupted, preventing the game from executing.

I'd try maybe downloading from other sources, idk.

If you have run into problems in spite of downloading the game several times from different sites, then I wonder if the unzip utility that you are using could somehow be corrupt. Have you tried extracting anything other than Eternum with it? If not, then try downloading and extracting a different game with it, and see if that runs OK or not. If it doesn't then you could try downloading a different unzip utility and using that. (I suppose you would need one that you can download as a self-extracting .exe if your existing unzipper isn't to be trusted.)

I've already download a few other things and extracted them with the same tool, even other RenPy games, either way I've been using the same tool before the factory reset and previous to it it worked just fine (And it still does, at least with the other games I've used it for). I did try to use the computer's built in function for extracting Eternum, an it seems to find a problem when trying to extract the rpy file, so I wonder if my computer in itself has a problem with such files or I've been unlucky enough to have downloaded corrupted files one after another
