To be fair, Cari wanting to jump to Eternum badly was something that was known in Discord for a while. But it's more due to the fact that he felt suffocated with his potato laptop and that switching to HS2 on a high-spec rig was a liberating experience by comparison.there is "rushed ending" when something suddenly ends without it making sense.
and then there are certain... type of people... i really struggle how to describe them nicely... who will complain about anything and say ending was rush for any reason. What i mean is, its one thing to suddenly have illogical ending of story that ruins most if not all plotpoints and break characters out of nowhere to make story sprint to the end, and its another thing to come to conclusion of story and feeling certain way that something that you think is important that clearly was not as important to author did not get answered or was not resolved, or some subplot got pushed aside for the sake of main story... but none of this means the ending is rushed, it just means you have criticism based on your preferences.
Its just sad and stupid that people use their own preference to make bullshit claims like "ending was rushed" "author gave up" "they just wanted to start something new" etc.
okay . How big in terms of content are the update?8-10 months, next update should be about 6-7 months from now
Rather very meaty.okay . How big in terms of content are the update?
yes but they still finished the game properly and not only that, there is multiple endings (although yes harem ending with stabby being pilot is the best ending) and story resolved itself properly. what part of it was rushed? what remained unresolved? what subplot feels like it got dropped? its been years since i read OiaLt so maybe im forgetting things but the ending felts well doneTo be fair, Cari wanting to jump to Eternum badly was something that was known in Discord for a while. +- 2-3 hours of readingokay . How big in terms of content are the update?
I agree that the game has a proper end that feels substantial and gives closure. That nonwithstanding, the "epilogue" did feel a bit rushed in the sense that it was just a bunch of stills from which you had to build the story of what happened afterwards. A proper scene to bring a more relaxed close to the story would've been nice. But I'm not bashing on the ending, OiaLT had a proper end, and even if rushed it was good.yes but they still finished the game properly and not only that, there is multiple endings (although yes harem ending with stabby being pilot is the best ending) and story resolved itself properly. what part of it was rushed? what remained unresolved? what subplot feels like it got dropped? its been years since i read OiaLt so maybe im forgetting things but the ending felts well done
Personally I thought the canon ending was okay but I agree that there were aspects about it that felt "rushed."yes but they still finished the game properly and not only that, there is multiple endings (although yes harem ending with stabby being pilot is the best ending) and story resolved itself properly. what part of it was rushed? what remained unresolved? what subplot feels like it got dropped? its been years since i read OiaLt so maybe im forgetting things but the ending felts well done
No, I disagree, sorry. I think if the story is forgetting subplots and leaving questions unanswered, that is not a preference. I think it is charitable to call it incomplete, which tends to happen when the story is rushed, and it is completely worthy of fair criticism.but none of this means the ending is rushed, it just means you have criticism based on your preferences.
agree to disagree then. i dont think its wrong to feel the way you do, that everything needs an answer, everything needs resolution... so i am not gonna argue against it. But i will point out that adding stuff to story to give the feeling of life going on and exist outside MCs inner group and showing that life does not gravitate around MC and peoples lives continue with or without mc's involvement is also a proper writing technique. No, I disagree, sorry. This also goes back to a point I made earlier regarding the story feeling directionless. All these subplots and questions keep getting added in each update, but none of them ever get completed or answered. Eventually, you'll reach a point where six years of development and 13 updates get wrapped up in one update, which makes it feel rushed.
It's an issue with the medium, but not unavoidable. Spreading it out more would help with pacing, for example, if Cari were to have a steady flow of subplots finishing, or start closing plotlines from update 12 onwards.
And then you end up like this...Welp if you avoid every forced H scene then you end up with every Li locked out?
