For many reasons, I had not played the two updates until now. I can only say four words about the game as it stands.....


HO LEE SHE IT!

I didn't think Eternum could get any better than it already was - I was SO wrong. I also thought I couldn't fall for the girls anymore than the 100% I already had - wrong again. I also thought I couldn't like Mr Hernandez any more than I already did - my dad was a wonderful man and great father but; I want Mr Hernandez to be my dad!

Could these girls get any more adorable? I thought "no" before but then this happened. I have a feeling that before this game is finished my head is going to explode.

Yeah, easily one of the best VN games there is. I even got my friend who never was into VN games to try this masterpiece and he instantly fell in love with it

There are many VN games I enjoyed playing, but yeah this gotta be my fav. Love the story, humor and its a game where every LI is lovable. Not many game manages to do that.

Hi guys, great game for most people who discussing it here,right? I approve that,completely.
What I want to say is, I noticed this game has received several 1 or 2 star rating(with some long but unreasonable comments in my opinion) recently, during the last few weeks. Corretcly speaking , after the v0.5 Public was released and got lots of high stars,which made this game into The Top10(modestly) AVN Game discussion on this forum.
Even after these low rates, Eternum still got 4.90stars on everage with more than 600 votes. That is impressive, since no lots of games could get a >4.50stars with more than 100 votes (almost every game that can do it is famous and popular, i wont point their names, but you can see them on the trending games page if you want).
By the way, OIAL is 4.80stars with 750votes now, outstanding! (Genius @Caribdis!) I think Eternum's game quality deserve a higher rank, isn't it? That could be a long story in the future, we'll see it.
But not with these 1/2star rates who come from no where.
I notice there were low rates came out every time after each v0.X was released. But I afraid it become more frequent after v0.4 and v0.5.(Review all the rates comments, you can feel it.) Are here some "haters" do this on purpose? I dont know. Anyway, I have no evidence. But interestingly, I find some guys who always "like" 1stars and 2stars reviews, such as "vasilji" "matthewB"，some of them started do that since 2021(Holy Shit) and again and again. You dont like Eternum and you track it all the time....... Have Caribdis murdered their families?or something? Intriguing.
Ok....guys. That's some Phenomenon I observed and ideas wanting to share with you. Like what I said last time, wont try to change others opinions by discussing on the Internet, meanless. But most your talks about Eternum are instructive and enjoyable, happy to see that! See you next time!

IMO the thing is that this is a pirate site for Porn-games. And Porn does not always attract people who are really intelligent or actually want to see a story. They want to jerk off.

And if you just want to jerk off, Eternum is a really bad game for it. Because it has lots of story before you have any H-Scenes (at least with the Main-LIs) and the steps are obviously taken slowly to make it more realistic (while in actual porn there are only minutes from getting to know a female person to destroying all her holes).
Overall, in a perfect world people would decide beforehand what they want to see/play and what not. E.g. if you want to have a quick fap and go right to the action, you simply dont want to play Eternum. And if you want a story, you dont want to play a lot of other games here where the female LIs are on your dick after 3 minutes.

But I guess people come here, see the very high rating and the preview pics, which show that the game looks exceptionally and are disappointed when it isnt what they are looking for.

(I mean, I dont want to call out someone, but the guy with the most recent 2-Star Review is an example of this... He also complains about a brothel while brothels where the women are not allowed to do certain things are also present in RL... Paying money does not always mean you get to penetration)

Agreed 100%, also jealousy it's in the human nature if anything for better or for worse it has raised a strong reaction and this already shows that Caribdis has done a good job.
Having negative criticisms is part of the game, and if we exclude those made by trolls, the positive reception of the game has been large, considering that it is a recent work in terms of development times and release of updates.
And it can only grow, so let's enjoy this fantastic work from Caribdis, with the hope that it will pushes other developers to strive to offer works of this quality.

I don't know I'm honest, I haven't adequately investigated how the rating system works on the site, so I don't have a concrete answer.
I think the time period in which the game was released in some way also counts and that there are other things that add to it, but more than that I don't know honestly, the thing is that the infos on it are sparse and sometime are contradictory.
They are two excellent works in my humble opinion, they deserve to be in the top ten, that said I don't know what to add to find out more, I hope there are others more informed than me since I'm curious as well.

I dunno, some simple harems can have same rating if good animations and sexy girls I think.
Rating can't be ideal cause of different tastes, and reasons to play.
Same shit as with movies.

Still, for Me Pale Carnations is still number 1 cause of multi-layered/evolving character personalities.
Eternum in top 3 with Desert Stalker.
And it can change dynamically for Me with updates and who knows...

Personally, I hardly ever read reviews here. I judge the games I play myself. If I like them, I keep at it, if not, they get deleted.

Any time I DO read reviews, like on Amazon and such, I tend to read a mixture of highest and lowest ratings. Usually, the lowest ratings are BS and not worth consideration because they are just stupid.

I know it does affect a game's standings, but there really isn't much we can do. I suppose it's possible to report them if they are out of line, but that can cross a line that shouldn't be crossed. I mean, everyone is entitled to their view.

Aren't there just more precise average numbers in the background? Maybe the average for PC is like 4.53 and Eternum has 4.51 or something. I also saw Eternum on No.1 for a time as well.
