When Arannis introduced himself, he said that Caly is the sovereign of Hyril'ar, so that should mean that Queen Anima is not in their realm (Idriel?). And well, we don't know anything about her father. But still, if Caly's sense of duty came into play, nothing could stop her from fulfilling her part of the 'pact'/promise. Even if she stays there at first and then comes back to Orion once she's reconnected with her people. That is of course if events themselves don't force them to stick together.

The thing with the "Massacre" seemed to be a past event since the Old Man was trying to say that things can't be changed by people bound by fate. Him offering Orion the chance to defy fate yet again (Buy the statue) proves him wrong and thus he knows Orion is on the right path.

Descendant means someone who descended from that person, like a great great great great great great great great great great great granddaughter or such.

We have no idea how long it's been since the events of Caly's tale, but it's safe to assume that it happened a long, long time ago, and is not just a fairly recent thing (and by a recent I mean simply hundreds of years ago or such). As such, Caly would likely only have heard of Anima from tales passed to her, and have not seen her in person.

The thing is the Syndicate made it clear that Orion NEEDS Calypso in order to open the Gates of Acheron and thus reach that win state they need. Having her be left behind in Hyril'ar and thus be benched for a while doesn't sound like something they'd plan for. Nah, I don't think Caly will be benched in Hyril'ar, and that something is going to either compel her to stick with Orion (which would necessitate her leaving her homeland)...or she will be forced to do so.

The first half of the update she's gonna have Orion all to herself so the only way for the 2 of them to come back together is to convince everyone to let her come back to help with the gems situation. That would make sense and be very possible since, by this point, it should be obvious that Orion is not a normal human and thus they can use his heritage and lack of tp knowledge to come back together.

The big problem here is that I don't see how *AHEM* "Arannis Thornvale. General of the Royal Guard. He who stands as guardian of the Western Glades, sworn blade to the rightful heir to the throne, Princess Clypso. The sole and true descendant of Queen Anima. Heiress of the Sy-tel-quessir, last of her bloodline. Warden of the Eternal Soul, and sovereign off the most powerful and exalted realm upon the continent, Hyril'al." will just hand her over to Orion without a fight.

Thus (from a certain POW) it would make sense for her to stay behind after her adventure with Orion in her land is over. Then she deals with her people and comes directly to Earth/Eternum.

Obviously I'd also prefer for our needy Princess to come back just for our dear Empress to teach her a thing or 2 about the advantages in being part of a harem but I also like to see the other less likely option.

Nonetheless both options open up many possibilities.

One would be (this only works if I'm wrong about the massacre bit and the Old Man was talking about future events) her going back home just to witness a massacre or her coming to Orion at the end asking for help since her people are getting massacred.

We don't really know if that's his real father or a paid actor and after the last update that seems even less likely. Seeing his powers make "The Founder" as the better candidate for who his father really is. His mother is Idriel, obviously

Sole and true just means that she's the latest descendant (meaning only child) and that her lineage can be directly traced back to Anima and is legitimate (so no bastard lineage or such added to the mix).

I agree, especially about the reveals to the girls. That's twice I see Caribdis brush off a potential reaction montage or scene with the LI (when Orion understands that the NPCs are dead a few updates ago, and when he discovers his newfound power in the last update).

I feel like for the 1st, some sort of flashback could have been added OR maybe Orion talk a little bit with the Carters and Annie (like he does), except instead of going to sleep, all the other LI come over one after another so he can tell them at the same time or something (just to make it less complicated, since the environment wouldn't have to change or anything). Could have been a fun scene too. Just an idea though, it could have been different idk.

For the newfound power, a quick montage like Caribdis already did, but with Orion telling each girls/couple of girls with some reactions (Nancy slapping his head, Annie freaking out, Alex and Dalia looking at him suspiciously, Luna worried, Penny smothering him with her chest ( ) etc). Like not a long thing, but just to acknowledge it and take the opportunity to make a fun scene at the same time.

Anyway, I don't know. There was ways to do that, but Caribdis brushed them off. I mean I understand the work this great game needs so it doesn't bother me much, but yeah some major development are indeed being brushed off offscreens.

He is open to criticism. He just disagrees when it runs contrary to how he goes about telling his story/how he views his characters.



^This was his response when someone pointed out that Nan seems to be too chill with regards to Orion being shot as opposed to Nova going full panik mode about it.

Also, the thing about Eternum is that he's basically following a general outline for the main story that's already done, and he seems to be sticking to that outline to the point that he's not afraid to employ time skips and such. Is that detrimental for readers who want to see more in-depth character development? Probably. Does it help keep the story chugging along and not end up overstaying its welcome? Definitely.

You kinda have to understand tho: Cari's first game was made without a general outline so it suffered from pacing issues where first half of the game was just mainly slice of life while the latter half went full Scooby Doo/Goonies mode and was paced a bit better. With Eternum his approach seems to be "keep the story moving even if it means chopping out character moments that players may want to see," which is basically a 180 from his first game (which IMO focused a little too much on character moments rather than the overall plot, and this was despite the better pacing around the latter half of the game).

I agree with many of the points you made, in fact.

However... as Dorfnutter said, I don't know if the dev himself will change his ways. Other people have said similar stuff to him and he's been adamant on his choices.

While a reaction would have being nice, what Cari said is true, Orion appeared with Nova, just having a funny moment of panic over anything else (also Nova didn't knew about Orion getting shot at that point), so Nancy took it as " He got hurt and healed again" and moved to the important part that was helping them calm their minds.

About Calypso, i also would like for Her to spend an update before the plot comes like a train out of control and force Calypso and the gang to take action.

One of the few games that I look forward to every updating and never miss. I play all versions starting from 0.1, and I always go through from start to finish. And even though I know most of the plot by heart, I always feel sincere emotions, just like the first time.

Great storyline, Great music, Great girls (Alex is forever in my heart), Great supporting characters... In short, everything is GREAT in this game.

Although the funny thing, if an invasion were to happen, is that I don't think Thany would be the one invading Hyril'ar. I have to assume that Hyril'ar will have some strong people out there (either close to if not as strong as Caly) so I think it won't be that easy to conquer. With that in mind, even if Thany's strong, I personally don't think he has the power to take over Hyril'ar or most importantly the incentive to go to all of that trouble. Orion will have to come back to claim the gems after all, no need to rush things.

Thus if the theories are true* I think it would make way more sense for the Usurper to come back with an army of "NPC's" to take what is "rightfully" his. I presume that Hyril'ar is/was protected by something that stopped Yliar and his descendents from taking over/finding the place again. Caly's "Nuke" (weakens the barier) and Orion's presence (acts like a beacon) could be what allows for the return of Yliar or his bloodline.

Now that will cement the founder as the threat he really is. Maybe that is exactly how he "created" Eternum to begin with: conquering worlds and enslaving the inhabitants.

Either that or I played too much SC lately and The Founder reminds me of the OG (SC1/BW) Mensk

God this new update is gonna be exciting. And you make a good point about Thany and his secret weapon. Although, personally, I'd rather see him as he is now (AKA very skilled, knowledgeable but flawed) instead of him being too OP. That usually leads to a slippery slope right to the stereotypical anime villain who's op just for the sake of being op and conveniently dies at the end when the MC is OP enough.

Granted I don't think Cali is going there with Thany and, as I said, I'm assuming that the Elves are powerful but this assumption could be very wrong. They could be the type of elves that allowed their peace and arrogance to erode their skills and in that case Thany could give them a rough wake up call.

But this does remind me: do we have any clue about who's really behind Thany? I know people thought it's either the Founder or William but at this point the Founder seems very unlikely and IDK what to think about Willie.

BAH! IDK why I'm even worried. Even if Thanatos is working for Infinity Thanos he still doesn't hold a candle to Chop Chop.
