Would not really say that based on that specific interaction. It was just an obvious way to lose the path to one LI and nothing more and obviously there is no scene needed for that (since nobody would really pick it).
I think the main reason why we probably wont get scenes with secondary characters anymore is simply because all Main-LIs are at the point where they are or will be having Sex with MC. The secondary girls made sense at the beginning to have lewd scenes, but are just not needed anymore.
