If it really comes out around Halloween, it'll have taken 9 and a half months. If the next update takes as long, that means it'd be released around August 2026. It's a lot of "ifs", but it seems quite probable that we will indeed have an update in 2026.
Anyone know which version will be the final one? Thinking of starting the game. Been waiting forever — finally 0.9 is almost here!"

Note that 0.9 is part of that "4-5 more updates," so game will end at version 0.13 or 0.14.

Caribdis has mentioned a few times that the game will probably have 13 or 14 updates. Which means 0.13 or 0.14 would the the actual final release that's versioned as 1.0.
Also, don't expect 1.0 after 0.9. These are not decimals, but version numbers. After 0.9, it'll be 0.10.
