Idriel is just data as far as we know, and it hasn't been that long since Oialt as we can see that Stabby Mike is still alive and well... she DOES look a lot like Carla though, just like the butterfly lady from the creepy dimension looks a lot like Lauren. Maybe it is all connected and the characters from the past game are actually trapped in Eternum that is using the magic of the Grimoire of Magnus to control the souls of the immortals.

Oh, play it it's totally worth it, the story is good and the characters are as loveable as the Eternum's one believe me, sure it's more rough but nonetheless it's still one of the best story driven games I played; even today it can rival some of the more recent ones, imho. (Eternum is on a league of it's own so I'm not counting it in the list of courseI really need to DL and play OIAL so I can get all of the references.
