In addition to what Dorfnutter said, it also seems to me that Orion (MC) has a healthy paranoia and fear of the praetorians. Understandably so. Getting the praetorians involved there also has the potential of getting himself, Alex, Calypso and even Dalia caught up in trouble with them. And after the bar, they've definitely shown themselves to be unreasonably harsh.
