You don't see the difference between loving someone and TELLING them that you do?
I already agreed he didn't tell her, and I further agree that saying it to her is a big difference. But it's the "to her" that makes it a big difference, not the "saying." Suppose MC tells Carolyn--is that such a big difference compared to him just thinking it? Yes, it's a difference. You could argue it indicates a greater commitment to the idea than just thinking it--but I don't think it's that much of a difference.

I also think Carib's a good enough writer that what we see of the thoughts of the characters are significant--we aren't seeing every thought that floats through any of their heads, so what we do see, we see for a reason.

You messed up some choices ig, all girls should have 5 hearts by now

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Thanks again for the tip. I think I've found my mistakes:

With Luna, I only did this guessing game in the car once, and with Alex, I didn't kill the guy on the Western server.

And now I have all my girls at 5 hearts, plus the harempath variable set to true.

Cool theorycrafting. I love doing it, but too many people forget the author/dev is the one who has to come up with this and their personal character determines a lot of it. Cari borrows and adapts, he doesn't really subvert. I have no idea if he likes "Wheel of Time", but we do have enough to piece together most of his material. "Ready player one", obviously, other pop culture millenial media, greek/latin/biblical mythology. That leans less towards time stuff/loops and way more towards more classical tales of sacrifice, heroism and bravery, honor etc. common in old european myth.

It's significantly likely we'll get a mix of the "hero defeats the villain after choosing to be honorable" from pop culture (note - this largely happens in things like Harry Potter, One Piece, Ready player one etc.) and the classical greek "heroe's journey" which returns the hero back to where he began after he overcomes impossible odds. This also fits a lot more with cari's style of polished, proper, AAA, but not overly artsy/risky.

Now there's quite a few ways it can play out, but we probably WILL get a moral choice to either achieve dominion over Eternum (with our harem) or bring things back to normal, win, return to the real world (with the harem or with singular girls).

Time loop stuff will likely be more of a side thing. Not saying it won't feature, by cyclical/rebirth ideas are more oriental in origin. I don't even know where cari is from, but culturally western/european ideas are heavily weighed down by the "moment", you need to be brave at the moment, you need to be honorable now, you need to be strong and responsible, consequences are heavy. Adding a cyclical/rebirth motiff as a central theme breaks that.

Could be wrong, of course. You always have to remember, devs and authors often read theorycrafting and can change their original idea to either a cool one or avoid a figured out thing.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the story nearing the end anytime soon? Seeing as you have almost max relationship points with the girls, and Caribdis did finish Once in a Lifetime at version 1.0. I'm waiting for this game to be completed before jumping into it, so obviously I'm not aware of where the story's at currently.

I don't see how this is a "side thing" when there's a lot of hints throughout the main story that basically reference some sort of loop or prescience related to it (i.e. the Syndicate member who said "we have seen it, we have tried," Idriel saying "this time, it'll be the right one" as her parting words to Orion before his first entry to Ion, the game's logo being an infinity symbol, the Founder's chest tattoo being an Ouroboros). Whether it's a straight time loop or a reincarnation loop is still up in the air, however.

Also, I disagree with cycles being an Eastern thing. The Greeks (more specifically the Stoics) have a concept of "eternal recurrence," where the universe dies after a certain point but is reborn as the same universe over and over. And in case you haven't noticed, the entire VN has a lot of Greek references to it (i.e. presence of oracle figures like Idriel and Luna, the default name being Orion and his character development referencing a lot from his mythological counterpart, Penelope and Calypso and Ogygia and Ulysses being references to characters and places in "The Odyssey," Thanatos being a reference to the Greek's version of Death, Psyche (and its latin counterpart Anima) who is a reference to the Greek Goddess of the Soul, the Greek rivers of the dead Styx and Acheron being referenced as a server and a temple respectively). So Cari utilizing another Greek concept in the game wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Also for the record, he's Spanish.
