There's no accounting for taste. But it doesn't fit as well in some stories as it does in others, and IMO Eternum falls into the "some" rather than the "others." Yes, there's a quasi-family thing going on with the Carters--MC more or less grew up with them until age 8 or so--but only Nancy really feels that in any way as far as we see (and then you can indulge that or not, at your preference). Neither Penny nor Dalia show any indication they feel like MC's their brother, like their brother, almost their brother, or anything along those lines, nor MC with them.
Annie? Even less so--it's just a completely different relationship. You might as well say that Luna's a long-lost cousin.

There was even a single sentence towards the beginning that Orion's mom left when he was very young. Even if that's NOT foreshadowing (remember only descendants of certain bloodlines can use Orion's new power according to Caly) it still doesn't sound like Nancy...

I'd strongly advise you against installing an update you downloaded from a random page, tbh. Just download v0.8.6 from here or Cari's and install it over v0.8.0.

My god, the music restoration mod is an absolute necessity for this game to really be complete. One of the best aspects of the game was how perfectly the music fit every single one of the scenes. Playing it without the original tracks just wasnt the same.

I see a lot of complaints about this on the site but not every dev who takes a while is milking it. The standard for porn games, especially visual novels, has increased dramatically. Visuals, story, writing, audio, animation, you name it. Games take longer because, if you want an audience, you have to put in a lot more legwork. That, or cater to an extremely niche audience who will pay diligently even if there's not a whole lot of them. And remember, most AVN devs work solo.
That's not to say there aren't milkers out there. There absolutely are. But length of development time isn't the best way to sniff them out. It's the contrast between time taken, content produced, details provided and consistency of milestones. Caribdis has been able to put out extremely high quality work in every update, rarely ever had major delays, and been pretty up front about progress when making community announcements. I think if anyone's earned grace, it's him.

I agree with you mate, why don't you start a VN game with a storyline like this or as interesting as this one and release every month or two. 1500+ renders all with details and professional touch.. I am sure the community will be so happy.
Yeah, they thinks it's easy af to write a story and do the rendering work. Even choosing the perfect dialogues takes hours.

This is one of the few games on this site where the time taken to put out an update is worth the wait.
I saw someone comments about forgetting about the story and essentially accusing Cari of milking supporters...
For anyone reading this, that is NOT the case. Cari puts out regular updates and is honest upfront how long they take. And they are WORTH the wait.
People make poke fun at the time between updates here, but if you read the posts, with very few exceptions, it's all in good fun. Those of us that have followed this project for some time understand why these updates take time - they come with a lot of content, and they're just GOOD.
So please, those who are new to this thread and wonder at the length of time between updates - know that there is a good reason behind it: When the updates finally drop, they are well-done, rarely with any bugs (I have yet to experience one), and just SOOOO GOOOOOOOD.

And I can add a simple point,even if caribdis would actually milk by increasing dev time,he's a one of a few devs with a great income who actually moves through the story without dozens of empty filler updates as some of actual milkers do,and actually wants to finish the game
