There's difference between simply dying while playing Eternum, losing progress and inventory as opposed to being excommunicated. This probably have been discussed over-and-over but there (potential) plot-holes, imo. They say, people who die in Eternum, turn into NPCs. At least some of them. But also, there are people who die in Eternum and turn back as level 1 with no items left. Until now Eternum was believed to be a hyper-reality VR game and people who die in Eternum didn't die in real life. At least we have an example. That simp dude, whose I don't remember the name right now, smashed by an Ogre. Then he returned, but this time got killed by Maximo the GOAT. Then again, he got killed with the first bullet in battlefield. Calypso knows, how many times more he died like a moron.
So, if Eternum is not a game but another realm(s) that people can teleport into with neural implants, how the hell their physical bodies do not get harmed? If not, and that asshole bardot was lying, then how the hell Orion can physically change in real life? I hope the dev won't conclude it to some unscientific astral travel bullshit.
The excomination was a Matrix-like explanation but astral travelling is not a scientific phenomenon. That's why I consider it, not maybe a plot-hole, but an easy-writing. Parallel universes, teleportation, mind uploading etc. are ok for me. But this one is based on spiritualism and it's pure bullshit. There's difference between simply dying while playing Eternum, losing progress and inventory as opposed to being excommunicated.
As for the second part, the players are using the implant to access the other worlds nit their physical bodies, just an astral projection using the implant that Ulysses deviced with the help of the founder. If they actually travelled to the worlds using their physical bodies then it's literally game over... And only Immortals like Founder and Orion etc can use their Physical body to travel. This is pretty self explanatory if you think about it. No plot holes so far.
As for how Orion is getting jacked is because he's connected to the other worlds even without the implant and he's simply traveling to the other worlds either way using the implant or otherwise. So his powers in Eternum which he previously only thought was possible to access via implant is actually trickling down and affecting him physically "irl" i.e when he's simply living about daily in Kredon
I bet we wont get the last sneak peek for another week or 2. The next wallpaper *should* be coming out this weekend, which may include more specific timing on the sneak peaks and release.lets hope there are sneakpeeks for thanksgiving today
Eternum as an AVN isn't pure sci-fi tho. It starts out as such for the player (us) but then takes on elements of fantasy, mysticism and even religion. Accept it or not I guess? The excomination was a Matrix-like explanation but astral travelling is not a scientific phenomenon. That's why I consider it, not maybe a plot-hole, but an easy-writing. Also, it still isn't explaning how dead people keep leaving in another realm without their body.
