Well, to be fair: nothing is more uncreative in AVN's as harem and incest. This genre is spammed with harem games and incest content.

They aren't supposed to be creative. They add more choices (and incest also adds a kink).

Harems aren't creative. Incest isn't creative. They are structures or tools within which you can create. Think of them as different paintbrushes used on the canvas. The author/artist is the one being creative in how they use the tools, and what they come up with in the end.

To that end, there's nothing inherently wrong with offering either Harems, or Incest in an AVN, provided they aren't pushed onto the player with no opt-out. If you don't want a harem, don't make one. If you don't want to sleep with your sister/mother, don't. That is of course, the author was good enough to make them optional, otherwise you have to choose whether or not to even play the game.

But again, I don't see them as negatives - just as tools to use to expand a story's possibilities.

I think I interpreted you as labeling them "uncreative" as a negative trait, along with mentioning that the genre is spammed with them (like it's a bad thing). I don't see them as bad or good, just as useful tools.

There's a non-human LI, Calypso, so that might be the only tag that applies. There are also "monsters" that show up in scenes (at Warthogs, on the Andromeda server, and a few other places), so those are in the game, but they aren't LI characters. Well, Alex has turned into a dinosaur once, so she can be a monster in Eternum. That could get kinky...

That is slightly simplistic. Creativity don't care about mainstream or not. If someone creative, who doesn't care about being mainstream or not, create a story with harem and incest, then it's creative, no matter if the kinks themselves are mainstream or not. Creativity is about treating the kinks in their own way, without pumping off others. It's more about how you do it than the kinks themselves.

Dudes, you're all getting very offtopic over my harmless pointer about harem and incest being mainstream in AVN's. Maybe we should go back to topic (the game Eternum). A little bit offtopic might be okay for the mods but this turns into a whole other conversation, and to be honest I don't see the reason to discuss this. Nothing wrong with mainstream and also not with making games for mainstream. Although I'll never get how incest could get such a major trope. Maybe it's just a vocal audience. I don't know, but that's also not the topic of this thread. So I'll just leave that topic unanswered now.

I think one of things that makes incest such a popular thing now is most devs make the "family" characters the hottest ones in the games.

Pretty sure the monster tag relates to Caribdis himself. Only a monster could put in so hart hitting fucking cliffhangers at the end of every update.
